Speaking of love...

1/10

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

Silvio Muccioni, the creator of this film, probably wanted to imitate his more famous brother, Gabriele, for his first time as a director. The basic problem with this film is one of credibility and a story that does not make much sense the way it unfolds on the screen. The creator has piled all kinds of situations that are just implausible, the way he conceived them.

Then, there is the acting. Mr. Muccioni, as an actor, under someone else's direction might do a somewhat decent job in a film. In here he goes for excess and piles a lot of it, especially in Sasha's torrid affair with Benedetta, his childhood love that suddenly pays attention to him. The other story involving Nicole, the shrink, does not pan out the way its creator had in mind. Add to that the idea that a relative needing money for drugs begs Sasha to go back to his gambling addiction to get a fix, is completely absurd. That Sasha complies with the request, shows a sucker who will buy the Brooklyn bridge from any charlatan that proposes the sale to him.

Tell me about... Silvio

1/10
Author: fabiosciarra-1 from Italy

"Parlami d'Amore" (Tell me about Love) is indeed a movie written, directed and interpreted by Silvio Muccino, the 26 yo brother of the most internationally popular director Gabriele Muccino. The movie is a kind of post romantic story full of non sense where the only purpose is to show off the Muccino Junior's cinematography and physic skills. Supported by an unusual rich budget for an Italian production, Silvio Muccino made a film full of little inspired quotes of great pictures, trying to upgrade the original level of the story into something better. The result is even more less real and genuine then the plot itself. His own acting is stacked in two or three facial expressions that usually remind to the public a Russell Crow's young fun exhibition. The screenplay is so full of different social themes, at the end never developed, that the whole movie seems just a giant face book of Silvio Muccino, gifted by some rich producer focused on spoiling the Muccino's popularity.

What Women Want & What Some Men Can't Grasp

Author: Lisa Tonga from San Francisco, CA

This is one of my favorite films. It's a work of art. I can't explain it...you have to experience it. I watched it the first time on a plane ride home from Italy and I was mesmerized by the film. A few times I remember looking around to see if anyone else was watching in hopes to talk to someone afterward about the film.

It was unexpected, dark, totally wrong, and sizzling hot. The film brought out several emotions while watching it. For me, that's not too common. I have a very short list of romance films that I like but this is on the top of the list. It's a bit of good and bad all wrapped up in a steamy ball of passion.

The other reviewer left one star??? Seems as if he's a bit jealous of Muccino and the wealthy. Oh well, maybe someone will talk to him about love someday and change his mind.
