Sex & Nudity

  • There are two rape scenes.
  • A man is raped by another man, he is shown in pain while the other man thrusts into him which can be disturbing to some, buttock nudity very briefly visible.
  • A man is forced to have sex with a naked woman who is in a critical state, nudity is not very visible but it's clear she's naked, then the man gets on top of her but he decides to kill her instead. (check Violence & Gore)

Violence & Gore

  • A man accidentally slices his arm off, the action isn't shown but we can see the man in pain on the ground with his slightly graphic wound exposed with blood dripping. The man is then shot twice by another, we see his lifeless body with some blood visible afterwards.
  • A man cuts the ears off of a number of selk'nam people. There is some blood and a close up shot of the wound after the procedure, the visual is shown for quite some time and we can see blood rising and leaking from the wound, disturbing.
  • The plot revolves around a group of men participating in the genocide of selk'nam people. Violence is not always graphic or too gory, but is unsettling and crude.
  • The acts of violence committed during the film can be quite disturbing to certain viewers due to it's realistic brutality.
  • A man is shot point blank in the head, we see the impact onscreen with blood spurting and the bullet hole clearly visible on his forehead before he drops dead to the ground. This is unexpected and can startle viewers.
  • A man approaches a naked woman who is in critical condition, he gets on top of her and chokes her to death, the woman is seen struggling until she finally dies.
  • Two men fight, as one punches the other we can see blood spurt as he falls to the ground, he then tackles the other man and begins to brutally punch him until he is dragged out, the man on the ground all bloodied up then begins to laugh in an unsettling manner.

Profanity

  • Two of the main characters uses the f word with some frequency.
  • Selk'nam people are treated like animals or worse.
  • In one scene, a man uses the term "fuck" multiple times while scolding another, this is pretty much the worst of the language as the uses are heavily reduced afterwards.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • People smoke and drink with some frequency.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole movie feels disturbing as portraits the genocide of selk'nam people.
  • The unsettling aura and themes of the film can makes viewers feel uneasy.
  • The opening may catch viewers off guard due to it's loud and slightly unsettling nature. The film opens with a red screen filled with a wall of foreign text as loud pounding drums play in the background, sure to alarm and startle some.

Violence & Gore

  • A family is shot dead in the woods by two men. The whole sequence is shown in a rather disturbing and ruthless manner, family members scream for their lives before getting shot down, later on the members are thrown onto the ground and a man proceeds to cut each one's ear off, there is a close up shot of the process and the camera lingers on the severely bloody wound.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The main character encounters a nude male selk'nam with body paint at the middle of the night. Nothing happens, but the scene could be frightening for some viewers.
