Storyline

Pullman's mother has a stroke, and this event leads Sandra to start asking questions about her father, but she ends up losing her trust in the team when she discovers they have withheld information about her father from her. The revelation that he committed suicide while under investigation for corruption causes the detective to doubt all she took for granted, but she tries to set her feelings aside when she is asked to look into the death of a circus ringmaster who burned to death in his caravan, leaving only his feet behind.

Goofs

Jack tells Oona that, as her eyes are brown and the Ringmaster's eyes were also brown, they could not be the parents of Christy, who's eyes are blue. Blue eye color is a recessive gene. If both parents have one recessive blue gene then they will both have brown eyes but can still produce a child with blue eyes. See more »

An explosive season finale
17 August 2017 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Such was the emotional ending that a slow piano piece accompanied the end credits, instead of Dennis Waterman's It's Alright. Anyway, the lid is blown open on the final days of the life of Sandra's father, who we learned committed suicide, two days after coming under investigation by Jack (the father allegedly killed a small-time pimp).

Christine Tremarco appears, and so does the legendary Nick Brimble, who had a scene stealing role in A Knight's Tale. He was also fantastic as the security chief in the British House of Cards series (the original one).

Also in this episode, DAC Strickland is in a relationship with the character played by Tremarco.
