siddharth is good as always

The hero has an extraordinarily strong sense of smell - hes an honest food safety officer who can sniff at food n conclude that its adulterated - the goody goody heroine wont harm an insect n has absolutely no sense of smell - the two meet n suddenly weird things happen - the heroine is able to smell again - also she starts killing some bad guys - #Aruvam narrates a different story but the execution isnt very thrilling - siddharth is good as always - rating 2.5/5.
Even food can be corrupted in India
bonniath-1396824 December 2021
We are going to make a tree drink poison (liquor) in beginning of movie. Supernatural magic affecting all the characters because of their nasty actions.
Obviously, in India, there are so many corrupt government officials, therefore, all business is thought evil. Pay your way to get construction, business, government stuff put through no matter who or what you hurt. This movie is about that.
Mid-way through, there starts some way over the top action. Super unbelievable scenes where the main character throws people like 50 feet away, etc. This should have been a realistic type movie to make more of an impact, but I gave up and tuned out.
Also, If you are going to make a drama film, stop with the Bollywood music. Otherwise, ok.

Good message wasted with its making
saru202030 October 2019
Content & dialogues were good, Siddharth's acting was perfect, nothing else seems to have worked out.
One of the wasted movie. The content was very good and apt to the current economic scenario but the story & screenplay with a ghost in it trying to create thrill in an effort to make a thriller/commercial/message-oriented movie, they've failed miserably.
Worst VFX, poor song placement.
Good concept and worst making

Mr. Sai Sekhar, If you ever read this, Find something you are capable of, Tamil Film industry is known to provide opportunities for good talents which you are certainly not. I certainly dint understand your reasons on attempts to vilify a certain community throughout the movie. We are Tamil and your poisonous works against secularism will be rejected.
This film is an example of how much we need competent food and drug administration
maheshchoure24 August 2021
You don't see this movie as a masala movie, it conveys an important social message. What the Food and Drug Administration does, The Food and Drug Administration decides whether the food we pay for is edible or not. There are many big food brands out there today, but how many of them are clean and chemical free?
Not up to Expectations !!! Average Movie

Movie strongly shows the problems hid in Society such as food safety. The story portraying through a horror element and it maintain up to first half of the film.Director decided to say the story with a social message element through a horror story but the execution failed.Actors performance are very good especially siddharth. One time watchable film overall.

An Interesting Take On A Social Topic
arundathi9 November 2019
Siddharth is one of the most underrated actor. His performance was quite good. Some of the scenes were just a little over done but overall great performance and sincerity.
Catherine was good. She played her character very well and I appreciated the fact she could share almost equal screen space with Siddharth.
The only flaw was the execution. The concept and suspense were good, but the overall feel did not really motivate for social reaction. I would say this is a good one time watch.

Aruvam Movie Review
Magow-Intermean1 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A woman who doesn't like harming even an ant is possessed with the ghost of the man who loves her, which wants to take revenge on the corrupt men who murdered him.
For a while in Aruvam, you think that the director, Sai Shekar is winking at the clichés that we see in our films. Take the introduction scene of the heroine, Jothi (Catherine Tresa). She is so pure of heart that she stops herself from stepping on a few ants while getting down from her car. The director doubles the cliché when in the same scene, he makes her carry a dead dog and bury it - even while her colleagues are put off by the foul smell. In the scenes that follow this one, we get more of Jothi's good samaritan side. She lets free a parrot belonging to an astrologer, she feeds the inmates of an old-age home. In fact, the protagonist, Jagan (Siddharth) witnesses her performing some of these acts and in true filmi fashion, falls in love with her. Even Jagan gets a sob story to make us instantly like him. He is an orphan, and honest. "Suthathoda uchcham," his friend describes him.
But it is only after a while that we realise that Sai Shekar is dead serious (pun intended). What seems like a high-concept romance - Jothi has an unusual condition, which makes her oblivious to smell, and turns the persistent Jagan down, fearing her disability might result in a tragedy as in her past - suddenly becomes a revenge movie involving a ghost. But this earnestness and the predictable plot developments keep weighing the film down. The writing is all over the place. We expect Jothi's 'disability' to have a bearing on the plot, but it never does. In the latter half, we get shots of Jagan sniffing out food adulteration (he is a food safety inspector), quite literally! But this, too, just doesn't go anywhere. We also get a handful of villains, none of whom make an impact. As for the leads, Catherine Tresa is too lightweight for a role that calls for both acting chops and commanding screen presence while Siddharth's characterisation seems to be just a different version of what he played in the recent Sivappu Manjal Pachai. He comes across as sincere, but with the rest of departments failing him, there is only so much he can make up for. Maybe he can take solace in the fact that he is perhaps the only actor who has been part of three different ghost films - the excellent Aval (pure horror), the partly amusing Aranmanai 2 (horror comedy), and now, this dull revenge drama.
*****Exceptional movie*****
