Storyline

Summer in a small southern town: Grace wants to go to college, but her feckless mom has poisoned that well (no student loans because mom has welshed on credit cards in Grace's name). Dorian wants to escape from his snobbish adoptive parents. They team up to sell marijuana - she hopes for enough to go to college. Both investigate family secretes, and things get complicated when Dorian falls for her, Grace falls for someone else, and Grace's 15-year-old sister behaves badly. Can Dorian find independence and Grace get to college. And what constitutes a family, anyway? Written by <jhailey@hotmail.com>

Quotes

Dorian Spitz: I knew we should go into business together... I can see it on your face, you know. I can see it in your eyes. You need to escape your world just as much as I do.
Grace: Except that you're trying to escape down, and I'm trying to escape up.
Dorian Spitz: No. There's no up or down, man. There's just free and trapped.

flavor
28 January 2013 | by (Romania) – See all my reviews

a nice film. about a boy, a girl, theirs life and families. good story, good cast. and the flavor of reality in a special atmosphere. nothing complicated, all - honest and clean. sure, axis are Susan Sarandon performance and charming Anton Yelchin manner, not different by usual way, to do his character as collection of sparkles. but the film gives more than a good show. a lot of questions. a bitter air. crumbs of hope. funny moments, in a form, a lesson about life but not very serious. because it is only a honest story. without great ambitions.without desire to convince. only in indie clothes. and this is its basic virtue.
