Storyline

Sam and Dean follow the trail of an Anti-Claus when victims are apparently pulled up the chimney never to be seen again. After a lead goes nowhere, the Winchesters learn the Anti-Claus in in fact a pair of old pagan gods who have assimilated into society and have found a new way of getting their yearly sacrifices. A flashback to Christmas Eve 1991 reveals how Sam found out for the first time what their father really did and where Dean got his gold amulet. Written by Derfel85

Dean asks Sam, "So was I right? Is it the serial-killing chimney sweep?" To which Sam replies, "Yup, it's actually Dick Van Dyke." Dick Van Dyke is famous for playing Bert, the singing/dancing chimney sweep from the Disney classic Mary Poppins (1964). See more »

Amazing episode
8 September 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I do not know why there is so much negativity based on these reviews, but if it is because of a flaw with how the religion was used, that hardly matters.

The execution of the episode was perfect, absolutely perfect! It was funny at times, but also dark and explored the side of Sam and Dean at their young age that many of us crave for. I found it to be one the best Christmas episodes I have ever seen, and if only people were not so keen to pick out every small detail of research flaws that there is. This remains one of the best of Season 3, and possibly of the whole series.
