Storyline

When Sam and Dean investigate the disappearance of a man who was looking into a tourist attraction known as "The Mystery Spot" -- where the laws of physics don't apply -- Sam is thrown into a repeating loop, living the same day over and over, and watching Dean die each time in a different way as Sam avoids the method that killed him the last time.

In the diner, Dean gets excited over "Pig In A Poke" being the special of the day. Sam asks him if he even knows what that is. In fact, "pig in a poke" is also an expression that refers to an item being presented in a way that conceals its true value; or in particular, its lack of value. This seems to be a reference to the Trickster being behind the magic of this hunt and not the Mystery Spot as Sam and Dean first thought.

The Time Loop

Dean and Sam head to a place in Broward County called Mystery Spot, a place where the laws of physics have no meaning, to investigate the disappearance of Professor Dexter Hasselback, On Tuesday morning, Sam wakes up listening Asia in the radio; has breakfast with Dean, and while going to Mystery Spot, Dean dies. Sam wakes up again on Tuesday morning and the same situations repeat over and over again, but he is not able to avoid the death of Dean that dies in one hundred different ways. The Winchester brothers realize that they are trapped in a time loop living the same day and apparently with no way out. When Sam notes that a costumer in the bar called Ed Coleman has just changed his dressing, he discovers that a Trickster is fooling around with him.

""Mystery Spot" is an episode visibly inspired in "Groundhog Day" with the brothers trapped in the same day. The story is engaging and entertaining, and the deaths of Dean are hilarious. My vote is nine.
