When Sam and Dean investigate the disappearance of a man who was looking into a tourist attraction known as "The Mystery Spot" -- where the laws of physics don't apply -- Sam is thrown into a repeating loop, living the same day over and over, and watching Dean die each time in a different way as Sam avoids the method that killed him the last time. When the brothers are posing as reporters, interviewing the Mystery Spot owner, Sam gets worked up and Dean refers to him as, "Kolchak." This is a reference to the 1970s TV show, "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" about a newspaper reporter who uncovers supernatural causes in his investigations. See more
The episode is supposed to take place in "Broward" county and there are potted palm trees on the street as Dean and Sam walk from the diner to the Mystery Spot. But it never gets cold enough in Broward County, Florida, to see one's breath, at least not during the daylight hours. See more
