Zelda Rubinstein, The Underwear Bomb And James Cameron In Today's Twitter-Wood

31 December 2009 4:14 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

News that "Poltergeist" actress Zelda Rubinstein has been taken off of life support didn't go unnoticed by horror movie fans in the Twitter-Wood community this week. The sad revelation caught the attention of both Richard Kelly and Jeff Katz (on his birthday, nonetheless), and I definitely echo those sentiments to her family.

In other posts, attempted underwear bomb from last week is still a trending topic among tweeters. Kevin Nealon was among those contemplating the ongoing investigation yesterday. Catch those thoughts after the jump along with Brian Lynch on Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner, Christina Applegate and Emmy Rossum on James Cameron's work in "Avatar" and more in the Twitter-Wood report for December 30, 2009.

A 'Twilight' Actress In The White House In Today's Twitter-Wood

29 December 2009 2:45 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Christian Serratos was talking about going to Greece yesterday, but last night she was post pictures from her trip to the White House, where she visited a cardboard Christmas tree.

In other tweets, Mindy Kaling saw "Avatar," and she and fellow "Office" cast member Rainn Wilson ran a hypothetical question about how Dwight would react to Na'vi. Click on past the jump to see what they predicted along with what Adam Duritz gave Emmy Rossum for Christmas, whose Wii workout game Diablo Cody has been using and what Neil Gaiman security pat-down he had to endure. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 29, 2009.

John Mayer, Michael Moore, Simon Pegg And Others Respond To 'Avatar' In This Twitter-Wood Early Edition

21 December 2009 12:00 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

As you all know quite well, "Avatar" hit theaters this weekend. And while celebrities have ways of finagling themselves tickets to official premieres -- I think there's a secret handshake or something -- plenty of them turned out to "slum it" with their adoring public for public screenings of the movie. Or at least, that's what it seems like based on the influx of tweets on our Twitter-Wood feed.

The tone has been mostly positive on the Hollywood insider front. Hell, last week superstar actor Ben Stiller appeared on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" with only one thing in mind: pimping James Cameron's sci-fi epic! "Oh, I'm here to talk about 'Avatar.'" he said. "I'm really excited about it, Conan. It's gonna be... it's just going to be an amazing movie." Hit the jump for more from celebs on "Avatar," fresh from the Twitter-Wood feed.

The Olympic Torch, The 'Dollhouse' Wrap Party And 'Avatar' Reactions In Today's Twitter-Wood

17 December 2009 3:30 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Jason Reitman wasn't bluffing yesterday when he said he would be carrying the Olympic Torch through Toronto, and he's got a picture up to prove it today. Selecting the Twitter Pic of the Day wasn't easy this afternoon, considering Reitman's post was accompanied by Eliza Dushku's shot of the "Dollhouse" wrap party, a view of "New Moon" actress Christian Serratos' latest photo shoot and a 2003 photo from Roger Ebert that appears to show Bob Dylan with blond hair.

Click on down, and you'll find all of those posts, as well as a few reactions to James Cameron's "Avatar," what Liv Tyler did inside Rainn Wilson's car and the celebratory gift Eli Roth plans on sending his fellow "Inglourious Basterds" actors in honor of their SAG Award nomination. It's all retweeted in the Twitter-Wood report for December 17, 2009.

Taylor Swift Tweets About Trashing Fancy Hotel Room

12 December 2009 12:04 AM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Taylor Swift has accidentally broken the curtains of a posh hotel room where she stayed. Taking to her Twitter page on Thursday, December 10, the alleged girlfriend of "Twilight Saga" hottie Taylor Lautner confessed, "At the fancy hotel, I may have broken the fancy curtains because I didn't know they have a fancy electric button you push to close them. Hm." Ok! Magazine reported that Swift stayed at the hotel on Thursday night, December 10.

A day before posting that message, the young country music singer was seen debuting her new straight hair. Paying a visit to Baskin Robbins in New York City along with "The Rocker" actress Emma Stone, the 19-year-old remained tight-lipped about the reason why she ditched her trademark curly hair.

Taylor Swift was recently crowned by Billboard to be the Top Female Artist of 2009. She shared the spotlight with Kanye West, who got Top Male Artist title. During »

Taylor Swift Debuts New Straight Locks

Taylor Swift has changed her hair style. The young country music crooner has been photographed showing off her new straight locks during her night outing in New York City on Wednesday, December 9. The "Fearless" hitmaker was seen happily smiling to paparazzi, but she still declined to reveal the reason why she cut her curly hair.

That night, Swift was photographed paying a visit to Baskin Robbins. Accompanying her was the Amelia of "The Rocker", Emma Stone. Recalling what she has done during the day, the 19-year-old made use of her Twitter account. She wrote, "Photo shoot all day, followed by dinner with Emma stone. Then we wandered around a candy store like wide-eyed little kids."

World AIDS Day, Pudgy 'New Moon' Werewolves And '2012' In Today's Twitter-Wood

1 December 2009 3:30 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

If you noticed an abnormal amount of red in your Twitter feed today, it's because much of the Twitterverse and Twitter-Wood population was observing World AIDS Day. Russell Brand, Paris Hilton, Virginia Madsen and Ashton Kutcher were among those tweeting for awareness -- though Brand predictably did so with lighter sensibilities.

In other tweetage, Rainn Wilson has officially attempted to sooth any offense John Cusack might have taken from a comment he made about "2012." Check out the exchange after the jump along with the "New Moon" wolf pack as you've never seen them before, an epic Stanley Kubrick book and Diablo Cody's kitty litter smell problems. Tiger Woods, 'New Moon' And Homemade 'Toy Story' Models In Today's Twitter-Wood

30 November 2009 4:00 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Tiger Woods was a hot topic on Twitter this weekend, and that meant he became a trending topic in Twitter-Wood. Somehow his Cadillac Escalade has become a subject of interest too, particularly with one "Harper's Island" actor who pointed out that the golfer wasn't driving a Buick.

"Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich, meanwhile, retweeted some great shots of homemade models based on the Disney-Pixar series, they're mighty impressive. Also impressive has been the performance by "New Moon" in theaters this month, but Jim Carrey took note of the movie's rabid fans and issues a warning in response. Check out those tweets along with sad news from Emmy Rossum, how to get to Sesame Street and Sarah Silverman's reaction to "Precious." It's all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 30, 2009.

Robert Pattinson's Music, Vampire Kat Dennings And The Naked Cowboy In Today's Twitter-Wood

Robert Pattinson cleaned up at the box office this weekend, along with the rest of the "New Moon" cast. One of his co-stars, however, would love to get together with him off-screen in the recording studio. The mega-release prompted reactions from Rainn Wilson and Brent Spiner as well today. "Twilight" star Peter Facinelli, meanwhile, tried to create a new vampire with a few photo tricks and a shot of Kat Dennings.

Check out all of that after the jump, along with Ice-t's photo op with the Naked Cowboy, philosophizing from Jim Carrey and Paris Hilton's new exotic pet. They're all on the little retweet mix tape I put together for you in the Twitter-Wood report for November 23, 2009.

Celebrity Biography: Emma Stone

15 November 2009 9:21 AM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

Emily Jean Stone, better known as Emma Stone, was born on November 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona, the daughter of Jeff and Krista Stone, and the older sister of Spencer. Stone started acting at a relatively young age, appearing in a school production of The Wind in the Willows when she was just 11. Regional theater appearances followed and eventually, at 15, Stone convinced her parents -- using popcorn and a PowerPoint presentation, of all things, keyed to the Madonna song "Hollywood" -- to let her take a serious shot at acting, which meant relocating to Los Angeles. "I just always wanted to act from birth,” Stone told Saturday Night Magazine. "I think I was drawn to comedy originally because when I was really young, by the time I was eight, I had seen movies like The Jerk (1979), Animal House (1978), and Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) with my dad, and I knew them by heart. Veteran's Day, 'Precious' And 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' In Today's Twitter-Wood

Veteran's Day brought no shortage of veteran appreciation today in Twitter-Wood, prompting thanks and memories from across the board, as well as a personal note from "Twilight" actor Gil Birmingham.

Meanwhile, Jason Schwartzman's on his way to the NYC debut of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which as a Wes Anderson follower, I am anxious to see myself this weekend. Another new release, "Precious," really got a hold of Tyrese Gibson, who said the film's been keeping him awake. Check out their thoughts along with pictures from Peter Facinelli and John Stamos and a Henry Winkler autograph to be jealous of after the jump. The 'Twilight' Un-Tanning Process, Body Paint And Latoya Jackson In Today's Twitter-Wood

There must have been a "New Moon"-related tweet mandate out today, because the faces of "Twilight" clogged my Twitter feed today. David Slade posted an "Eclipse" update, Peter Facinelli TwitPic'd from his makeup chair and BooBoo Stewart posted a photo op moment with Latoya Jackson. Even Gil Birmingham contributed an off-screen group shot.

Candid pics showed up from non-"Twilight"-ers as well, though. Ken Jeong, Sarah Silverman and Eli Roth are all prominently features in today's tweet mix, in addition to Rainn Wilson on Bill Cosby and Mark Webber's on-set shot from his new movie "The Lie." As the search for Falcon Heene, the six-year-old boy feared to have been trapped in a runaway Colorado balloon, continues today, the story has more or less less consumed the Twittersphere. Twitter-Wood hasn't been immune to that effect with Alyssa Milano, Simon Pegg and plenty of others posting about the unresolved scenario.

Adventures of Power Movie Review

9 October 2009 5:18 AM, PDT | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

You can’t crush a man’s dreams, even if they are only to be the best air drummer in the world.  That’s the premise in this Rocky-meets-Napoleon-Dynamite picture written and directed by and starring Ari Gold as the titular Power.  He looks like a dorky Spike Jonze with a Members Only jacket and a perpetual sweatband.  For some inexplicable reason they refuse to begin the film’s title with some sort of definite article.  I assume they were going for a play on words, but that feels a little high-minded for this film.  This movie is so chock full of quirk that none of the characters are even remotely believable. It’s geared towards the youth – kids and teens who thought the aforementioned Dynamite was hilarious and quoted it incessantly.  It is also, a very clean film.  The raciest thing in the entire film is the back of »
