If you absolutely LOVE snowboarding, and if you are under 15 years of age, and if your IQ is below triple digits, and if you have no appreciation of movie making as an art form, and if you think Tom Green is a MONSTER star, then you're going to love this movie.
Snowboarders save the day, by, what else, snowboarding. It's not "Monster a-Go Go" bad, (I don't think a movie THAT bad can ever be made again), but this movie is quite horrible, with no redeeming social value.
Seriously, what are kids thinking? This can't even really be called a movie. It's more like, "Hey, Dude, I know a guy that has some great weed and $250,000, so we should make a movie!" That's just what it looks like too. Bad actors working with a bad script. Yeah, that's a great idea. I'm sure it sounded better while the bong was gurgling.
Comedy Central offered this up tonight. It's like Pauly Shore, minus all HIS incredible human insight. "Help me, Scooby!" Proof positive that money does not equal talent (see Paris Hilton).
You'll lose more brain cells watching this than you would by smoking a few bowls of the good stuff and taking a header down the slopes.

Per by accident having seen this film to pass time, and wasn't expecting anything great and was somehow worse than expected. Tom Green gets top billed but is not the lead here- so for those wanting to see this film solely for him should realize this. He does have some screen time but is a supporting character, and at times is the highlight.
Expected somewhat of an over the top or raunchy type comedy but that isn't the case here. Nothing is quite funny, lack of any clever jokes. A bunch of stereotypical characters in a predictable plot.
The tone of this film felt very much like a family film, just added in several F-bombs and a few scenes of nudity (one involving a stripper at a party- which is quite lengthy). Otherwise this film is quite generic, dull and got boring at parts. Would not recommend.

SHRED is one of many snowboard themed extreme sports comedies over the years many have been so many like this they all follow the same formula some evil rich guy is threatening the mountain in some way and its up for the party dude snowboarders to shred it up and save the day.
The Daddy of all Snowboard comedies is OUT COLD which is by far the best however SHRED although it dosen't quite take the crown from OUT COLD it does make a pretty good job of it.
Dave Englund from (jackass) and his brother are ageing ex snowboard pros who had it all then lost it and now work on a mountain operating lifts they wanna taste the big time again so set up a camp for up and coming snowboarders. But Tom Green is the evil rich dude who they played pranks on back in the day he will stop at nothing to shut them down. It's full of pranks partying and snowboarding its exactly what you expect from it and the sequel is already well into production.

I thought this movie was good, the rating 2 up from me that bashed it like crazy is totally off. This was a good movie and it was interesting to see the crazy Tom Green in a totally different character. I was so used to seeing him dangling meat and playing the piano that I didn't even know it was him till halfway through. Then a guy from jackass is on here too and its great to see them all together in this film. Its got some partying, some awesome snowboard action and a good plot. Full of comedy and emotion, definitely worth watching. "Backwards man,Backwards man, I can walk backwards fast as you can" LOL (tom green)
