The Harper brothers suddenly see their evil mother Evelyn with another man, Teddy Leopold, a businessman from Denver. Initially Charlie refuses to get attached again. Ma's men tend to disappear, dead or alive, and leave the boys 'orphaned' too often already, but Alan is childishly happy to be invited by private jet for front seats at a Las Vegas boxing match. When Charlie is persuaded to give Teddy a chance, they are both assured that he is the step-dad they want. Alas Evelyn dumps him, as he wants to settle down.
