Storyline
Having just watched a gangster picture, Herbert is all talk about how he would subdue a gangster. It doesn't quite work out the way Herbert describes when he, Winnie and eventually Dobie are held up at gunpoint after the store has closed. The culprit in question is Clyde 'Goon' Calhoun, a notorious habitual criminal and recently escaped convict. Goon is looking for a place to hide out, while he waits for his associate, Big Louie, and his moll, Patsy, to come and retrieve him. Until then, Goon locks Dobie in the closet, while it is supposed to be business as usual for Herbert and Winnie, which means opening the store like nothing is wrong. As Herbert and Dobie are too cowardly to do anything about their tenuous situation, they have to hope that someone who comes into the store can help them. Will unsuspecting and trusting Maynard be that person? Written by
