The Homicide team look into the hit-and-run death of Yvette Simpson after a person comes forward some weeks later and says that she was intentionally hit by the car. The case leads them to the police union and a subsequent investigation by the public standards committee which brings Bernice back in contact with Michael Mellor who brought corruption charges before her previously. Can they work together to find Yvette's killer?
After discovering that Simon did sign his gun into the gun safe before he went on holiday Bernice asks Claudia to do a covert investigation on Simon to check his stability on the job. Meanwhile, the team investigate the death and dumping of a council worker in a submerged car and find links to a housing estate on contaminated soil and a private investigator who was silenced. The investigation leads Simon to be suspended after the alleged culprit falls from his building.
