Parents Guide for
Choke (2008) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Several sex scenes. A number of them are brief, but there are a few that last for a bit, and moaning is clearly heard in one of them. Most of these scenes contain minimal nudity (with exceptions).

There is a scene where a woman has a man act out a rape fantasy, which ends with her being displeased at his lack of aggression and using a vibrator to climax as he masturbates somewhere else and leaves.

Nudity in the movie is still usually in a sexual context, although it is not frequent or long-lasting, with some of it centering on old(er) women.

One offscreen instance of a fellatio and handjob, as well as a few offscreen near-instances of male masturbation.

Multiple references, though not exactly in a joking context for the most part.

Violence & Gore

A man fakes choking in a few scenes. There is also a scene where he may not be faking.

25 uses of 'fuck', 13 of 'shit', and 1 of "nailed", "broads", and "hooker". There's also a reference to Jesus' foreskin creating someone who is the "second coming", and a few other related blasphemies which may be offensive to religious viewers.

An instance of a woman smoking marijuana and blowing the smoke at a man's mouth. And a few instances of drinking and one or two instances of cigarette smoking.

A doctor talks to a man about a case of dementia that has been worsened by years of substance abuse.

The movie is a black comedy at times, although those elements are somewhat lessened later on.
