Sam Rockwell has been a regular at Sundance for many many years, appearing in movies like Choke , Moon and last year's The Way, Way Back , the directorial debut by The Descendants ' Oscar-winning co-writers Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. This year, Rockwell is appearing in Lynn Shelton's new movie Laggies , which is premiering tonight. Deadline has the scoop that Rockwell will be reuniting with some of the filmmakers behind The Way, Way Back as he has been attached to star in The Eel , a script that made it onto the Black List that's being directed by Roberto Bentivegna. "Trust Me," a comedy that premiered earlier last year at the Tribeca Film Festival, has just been acquired by Starz Digital Media, the digital distribution subdivision of Starz. Director Clark Gregg, of "The Avengers" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" fame, also stars in the film about a Hollywood agent who finally has a chance at notoriety after discovering a 13-year old child prodigy. Starz Digital Media has acquired Us rights to Trust Me from UTA.
The film will go out on digital platforms and VOD in May, one month before the June theatrical debut.
Trust Me premiered at Tribeca 2013 and follows a down-and-out children’s agent who discovers a starlet with enough promise to turn his career around.
