Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer arriving before the end of the year?

11 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Despite the fact that the film itself is still some fifteen months away from release, Dark Knight fan site Batman-on-Film is reporting that the first ‘Batman heavy’ teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is ready to go, and that we’ll be seeing it before the year is out…

According to the site: “The first teaser trailer for the film is complete and ready to go. The overt hint I got from these folks is that the teaser will be revealed this Fall along with a November or December film release (and online, of course). I have no idea to which specific film it may be “attached,” but New Line’s (which is Warner Bros.’ sister company) The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies is being released on December 17, 2014. By the way Batman fans, I’ve heard that this teaser is ‘Batman heavy.'”

Ray Fisher didn’t know about Cyborg solo movie until the official announcement from Warner Bros.

21 October 2014 2:29 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Ray Fisher – who is set to portray Victor Stone, a.k.a. Cyborg in the DC movie universe – was just as surprised as fans when it was announced there would be a Cyborg standalone film in 2020. The actor found out at the same time the fans when Warner Bros. and DC announced their film line up last week.

Fisher told Entertainment Weekly: “I didn’t know the extent to which DC and WB had planned on taking my character, when I signed on, I just wanted to be part of this world. But that specific information, I found out then and there. I didn’t think I’d be getting my own stand-alone film.”

Newcomer Fisher will first be seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and will likely appear in both Justice League movies before taking the lead of his own movie in 2020.

So look out for Fisher »

Box Office: 'Fury' wins the war with $23.5 million as 'Birdman' soars in limited release

19 October 2014 10:20 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

David Ayers' "Fury" hit theaters hard this weekend and the World War II era drama easily took down two-time champ "Gone Girl" with $23.5 million.  Starring Brad Pitt, Shia Labeouf and Logan Lerman, among others, "Fury" is reported to have cost $68 million.  This writer has heard it actually cost over $100 million, but we'll go with the studio's number at this point.  The one thing everyone can agree on, however, is that "Fury" was fully financed by Qed International and it will need significant international returns to break even.  Considering Pitt's overseas star power that may not be a concern.  "Fury" also marks Sony Pictures third no. 1 opener in a row after Screen Gems' surprise hit "No Good Deed" and Columbia Pictures' "The Equalizer." David Fincher's "Gone Girl" dropped to no. 2, but New Regency and 20th Century Fox are still smiling.  "Girl" surpassed the $100 million mark in just »

More rumours that Jena Malone is playing Robin in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

17 October 2014 3:23 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A couple of weeks back, rumour resurfaced claiming that Jena Malone is reuniting with Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder for the role of Carrie Kelley (a.k.a. The Dark Knight Returns’ Robin) in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, stemming from the fact that the actress had died her hair red – much like the character in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

Well, Variety is now quoting an alleged extra from the top-secret film, who has apparently told local news station Wilx-10 that “the character of Robin is now female”. This certainly adds some credence to the original report, unless the “extra” is just making it up to get themselves on the local news, of course…

Would you like to see Carrie Kelley in Batman v Superman, and if so, is Jena Malone a good choice for the part?

Why Former Robin Chris O'Donnell Thinks Ben Affleck as Batman Was an "Easy Decision"

15 October 2014 4:50 PM, PDT | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Chris O'Donnell had the distinction of playing Robin twice: once to Val Kilmer's Batman in 1995's Batman Forever and again to George Clooney's version of the Caped Crusader in 1997's Batman & Robin. So when he stopped by our La offices recently, we had to ask what he thinks about the franchise's newest Dark Knight, Ben Affleck. "I think he'll be great. I think it's an easy decision for Ben to do that. He's got nothing to lose - he's a made man, so to speak, in Hollywood. He directed Argo. He won an Academy Award. There's no downside," Chris told us. "And the fact of the matter is, having been through it myself, there is nothing that has a greater reach internationally than a film like Batman. Ben's a smart businessman. He knows that, and if you thought you couldn't expand his brand further, he will by virtue of Batman. »

Batman v Superman producer talks Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight and building to Justice League

Having served as producer on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, Charles Roven is now involved with the latest incarnation of the Caped Crusader, as Zack Snyder’s brings together Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel for the eagerly-anticipated 2016 sequel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. During a Hollywood Masters interview for Lmu Film School, Roven has now spoken about the casting of Ben Affleck, as well as stating how this interpretation of Bruce Wayne / Batman differs from previous versions, and teasing the expansion of the DC movie universe leading up to the Justice League movie.

“We knew that we wanted a very mature Batman, because we wanted to juxtapose him against this young Superman, so we wanted a guy who was tougher, rugged, had signs of life, had lived a hard life,” states Roven. “We wanted the guy to have chops, for sure. »

Oscars: Is Michael Keaton the Actor to Beat?

It’s only October, yet the predictions have already been rolling out for the next Academy Awards, still five months away. And though it seems to be said every year, 2015 is truly shaping up to be one of the most competitive best actor races ever.

Coming out of the gate from the Cannes Film Festival in May, buzz was heavy on Steve Carell’s transformative performance as John du Pont in “Foxcatcher” and for Timothy Spall, who won the lead actor prize for “Mr. Turner.” The Telluride and Toronto film festivals revealed a couple other contenders in Brits Eddie Redmayne for “The Theory of Everything” and Benedict Cumberbatch for “The Imitation Game.”

We’re not even touching on the many films yet to be seen that could bear contenders, from Jack O’Connell in “Unbroken,” Bradley Cooper in “American Sniper,” Oscar Isaac in “A Most Violent Year” and David Oyelowo in “Selma. »

'Batman v Superman': Ben Affleck Was the First and Only Choice

When Ben Affleck was first announced as Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last year, legions of fans took to the Internet to express their hatred for the casting. While he may have been the last choice for the fans, producer Charles Roven, who also produced last year's Man of Steel, revealed Ben Affleck was their first and only choice to play this new version of The Dark Knight.

"He was the first guy we went to. That's who we wanted. We knew that we wanted a very mature Batman, because we wanted to juxtapose him with this very young Superman. So we wanted a guy who was tougher, rugged, who had signs of life, who had lived a hard life, and we wanted the guy to have chops, for sure. "Justice" Villain, "Suicide Squad" Rumors

Two quite juicy rumors regarding major DC film projects have gone online today over at Latino Review.

First up, they say they can confirm that "Argo" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" scribe Chris Terrio is writing the script. They also have heard details about who may be the villain:

"Brainiac is going to be the bad guy in Justice League. The set-up of it is cool. Remember the Kryptonian beacon in Man of Steel, that Clark set off, that brought Zod to Earth? Brainiac heard it as well"

The Superman nemesis marks a change from the rumored inclusion of Darkseid as the main baddie for the "Justice League" film. The site claims the film's producers are "pushing him [Darkseid] towards later."

The site also claims they have the line-up of the seven villains that will make up the 'Suicide Squad' in Warners' proposed movie about the DC comic bad guys. »
