Exclusive: Sales deal for Paul Hyett’s recently wrapped sci-fi produced by Bill Kenwright.

UK sales outfit The Salt Company has boarded sales on sci-fi conspiracy thriller Peripheral from director Paul Hyett (Howl).

Hannah Arterton (Burn Burn Burn) stars as a young writer who enters into a Faustian pact with her publisher. Convinced to use a new smart editing software she stumbles upon a conspiracy of social control. As her mind unravels she finds herself going head to head with an artificial intelligence that is determined to write her book for her.

Producers on the feature, which wrapped in the UK this week, are UK theatre mogul Bill Kenwright and Craig Tuohy of Bill Kenwright Productions.

Co-starring are Jenny Seagrove (Local Hero), Tom Conti (Shirley Valentine), Elliott James Langridge (Northen Soul). The writer is Dan Schaffer (Doghouse).

Sequel to home ent hit 'Rise of the Footsoldier' underway in Marbella

Principal photography has started on the third instalment in the lucrative UK crime franchise; Carnaby to sell at Afm.

Principal photography has started on UK crime-thriller Rise of the Footsoldier: The Beginning, the prequel to the home entertainment hit Rise of the Footsoldier.

The five week shoot will take place in London and Marbella. This will be the third instalment in the franchise.

Returning cast members incldude Craig Fairbass (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) who stars as Pat Tate as well as Terry Stone (Doghouse) as Tony Tucker.

The third instalment will also feature Happy Monday frontman Shaun Ryder as a prison inmate, Union J’s Jj Hamblett as a young Pat Tate and EastEnders actors Larry Lamb and Jamie Foreman.

The film is based on the real-life story of the Rettendon Triple Murders, known as the ‘Range Rover murders’. Rise of the Footsoldier: The Beginning tells the story of Tate’s rise to notoriety »

The Horror Channel has announced a ‘Laugh or Die’ season for this month, which features a collection of extremely bloody and funny films spearheaded by the UK TV premiere of Jon Wright’s Grabbers, a Father Ted vs. Aliens monster romp from Ireland, and the network premiere of Jake West’s gore-ridden, exuberant zomcom Doghouse, starring Danny Dyer, Noel Clarke & Horror Channel’s Emily Booth. The season also includes the network premiere of Idle HandsRodman Flender’s stoner comedy horror starring Jessica Alba and the network premiere of Jay Lee’s Zombie Strippers starring Robert Englund and Jenna Jameson.
