Quicksilver Joining X-men: Days Of Future Past Played By Kick-ass Actor Evan Peters

Despite Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver being revealed recently to be joining Earth's mightiest heroes in The Avengers 2015 sequel, it seems the latter character will first appear in 20th Century Fox's 2014 mutant assembly, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Director Bryan Singer has just tweeted that actor Evan Peters (Kick-Ass, Never Back Down) is joining the ensemble cast of the “In-between-quel.” In other words, Fox just got the jump on Marvel Studios & Avengers 2 director Joss Whedon. Before he was an #Avenger, he was just a Really fast kid. Thrilled to say #EvanPeters is joining #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver.— Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) May 23, 2013 It's well known that both studios complicatedly hold the rights to Quicksilver, aka Pietro Maximoff, and both, therefore, could use him on the big-screen. James Wan to direct Fast And Furious 7

11 April 2013 2:19 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

Yes, there's going to be another one. And despite directing the last four installments, and taking the series in it's current heist movie direction, Justin Lin has declined to return for Fast And Furious 7, leaving Universal on the look out for a replacement for their biggest franchise. Jeff Wadlow (Kick Ass 2, Never Back Down), Baltasar Kormakur (Contraband), and Harold Zwart (The Karate Kid remake) were all approached, but, according to Deadline, James Wan is expected to sign a deal by the end of the week. If the deal goes through, he will be an interesting choice as this will be serious departure from his previous films Saw, Insidious, and the upcoming The Conjuring. Personally, I think he is a great choice, and if he can turn his knack for creating genuine scares to conjuring insane action sequences (though he is going to be hard pressed at topping pulling a cargo »

Universal reportedly eyeing Jeff Wadlow, Brad Furman & Harald Zwart for Fast and Furious 7

8 April 2013 2:00 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Having helmed four instalments in the franchise, we heard last week that Justin Lin won’t be returning to direct Fast and Furious 7, believing that the proposed schedule for Universal to put the sequel into theatres next summer wouldn’t result in his best work, with Fast and Furious 6 still being completed.

With the studio aiming for a Summer 2014 release, and with Vin Diesel revealing that the sequel was aiming to shoot in Los Angeles this summer, the search is on to find the director to fill the big boots left by Lin.

Latino Review are reporting that the studio have three directors currently on their list: Jeff Wadlow, Brad Furman, and Harald Zwart.

Wadlow has been working with the studio recently, having helmed their anticipated summer blockbuster, Kick-Ass 2. His experience directing Never Back Down, I’d argue, would put him in a good position for Fast and Furious »

So Who Will Helm "Fast & Furious 7"?

6 April 2013 9:48 PM, PDT | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Jeff Wadlow ("Kick-Ass 2," "Never Back Down") is reportedly at the top of the list to take over the helm of the upcoming seventh "Fast and Furious" feature at Universal Pictures.

Justin Lin, who directed the previous four installments, opted out of the next one this week due to the film's compressed production schedule which sees it being readied for a release next Summer.

As a result, Universal has been on the hunt for replacements and have reportedly managed to cut the list down to three potentials, with Wadlow at the top.

Next on the list is Brad Furman ("The Lincoln Lawyer," "Runner, Runner"), and at the bottom is Harald Zwart ("The Karate Kid," "The Pink Panther 2"). Universal is expected to make an announcement early next week.

Fast & Furious 7 Director Short List Revealed

6 April 2013 4:42 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Earlier this week we reported that Justin Lin will not be directing Fast & Furious 7, despite the fact that everyone thought he would. With the film set to shoot this Summer, we told you that Universal was scrambling to find a director and today, we have a rumored short list which contains the names of several directors who may take on the job.

If this short list is to be believed, then the studio currently has their eye on Jeff Wadlow, Brad Furman and Harald Zwart. If you’re not familiar with any of those names, we won’t blame you.

Wadlow, though he directed Never Back Down and Cry_Wolf, two somewhat enjoyable films, he won’t really be on anyone’s radar till his next film, Kick-Ass 2, hits theatres this Summer. That film is also a Universal property, which means that they obviously like what they see if »

Kick-Ass 2 Director Jeff Wadlow Wanted for Fast & Furious 7

6 April 2013 11:42 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Justin Lin, who has been with The Fast and the Furious franchise since the third installment The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, leading up to this summer's Fast & Furious 6, has had to drop out of directing Fast & Furious 7. The reason is because the movie is moving too fast towards production, and the director would have to start preproduction work while he's still working to get Fast & Furious 6 ready for its May 2013 release date.

Universal Pictures has had to find a new director fast, and according to Latino Review, they have the hunt narrowed down to three guys who seem custom built for the job.

At the top of the list is Jeff Wadlow, who directed this summer's uber-violent superhero sequel Kick-Ass 2. He also directed 2009's Never Back Down, which falls perfectly in line with The Fast and the Furious. And he would be working for the same studio as those two projects. »
