Gersh Signs Aly & Aj Michalka

Exclusive: Gersh has inked the sister act for U.S. representation. Aly Michalka and Aj Michalka started as a singing duo before segueing into acting in the mid-2000s. The pair starred together in a 2012 Fox comedy pilot playing versions of themselves. Aj recently wrapped a recurring role on HBO’s upcoming Silicon Valley and ABC’s The Goldbergs and stars in the indie drama Angels In Stardust. Aly recurs on Two And A Half Men and stars in the upcoming indie feature Sequoia. They also starred in the 2006 Disney Channel movie Cow Belles and later in MTV’s Super Sweet 16: The Movie. The pair also is represented by Evolution Entertainment.

Fox Buys Comedy Starring Aly Michalka & Aj Michalka Produced By Happy Madison

Exclusive: Acting/singing duo Aly Michalka and Aj Michalka may star together in a comedy series next. The two sisters topline a half-hour project, which has sold to Fox. It hails from writers Matt Dearborn and Adam Goldberg, Happy Madison and Sony Pictures TV. On the untitled single-camera comedy, which has received a script commitment, Aly and Aj Michalka will play versions of themselves. Finally out of the house and into their first apartment, Aly and Aj’s exciting new lives are interrupted when their mother unexpectedly moves in with them. Breaking In co-creator Goldberg and Zeke and Luther co-creator Dearborn will write the script and executive produce with Happy Madison’s Doug Robinson. Aly and Aj Michalka will serve as co-producers. John Cusack and Evan Peters Join Emma Roberts in Adult World

John Cusack (Being John Malkovich) and Evan Peters (Kick-Ass) are in advanced talks to star in Adult World.

Cusack and Peters will appear opposite Emma Roberts (Scream 4) in the adult themed drama.

Adult World centers on a recent college graduate (Roberts) who believes she’s destined to be a great poet, instead winds up working for an adult book store.

Scott Coffey (Ellie Parker) will direct from a screenplay written by Andy Cochran (Super Sweet 16: The Movie).

Adult World, which is currently in production, is a co-production between TreeHouse Pictures and Anonymous Content.

MTV throwing mobile party

MTV is taking full-length movies to the mobile screen.

The network said Monday that Super Sweet 16: The Movie -- an extension of the MTV series My Super Sweet 16 -- will premiere on mobile television service Verizon V Cast TV, marking the first time an MTV feature-length film has debuted on the wireless service before running on air.

The mobile premiere will come after the movie's debut on Comcast's Movies on Demand service, beginning today, Tuedsay, June 19 through July 7, and before its DVD availability.

While the movie will air on the cable network July 8 and be available for purchase on DVD on July 10, MTV on Demand will offer additional content based on the Sweet 16 franchise, including five originally produced Best of My Super Sweet 16 segments, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, the movie's trailer as well as classic episodes from the reality series.

The movie follows Saturday's launch of MySuperSweet16.com, an online destination based on the show.
