Trivia

Unlike the original, the confrontation between Sora and Roxas now includes a boss battle other than just cutscene cinematic scenes. This is also a similar approach to Riku's battle with Zexion in Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories (2007) (which was released alongside this game) of having a playable boss battle available on something that did not exist in the original game. This is also the only new boss battle in the game that is a regular boss battle (not counting the later optional Data Battle) instead of a hidden boss battle. See more »

Goofs

While in the original version of Kingdom Hearts II the tile for Ienzo/Zexion in the Proof of Existence representing his weapon was cracked because his weapon was not known prior to the release of this game and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, in this version his tile is still cracked even though his weapon symbol is still seen elsewhere for the Absent Silhouette and Data Battles, as this bit was not cleaned up for the Final Mix version. If you have the original KH2, you have to have this game

If you've played Kingdom hearts 2, you know what this is about. This is what Square Enix called an "international" version of the game. It's basically the same game as before, except from a few changes. There are a few new keyblades, you can fight the Organization XIII mushrooms for prices and you can fight any member of Organization XIII anytime you like.

The biggest thing is perhaps the new boss fight between the mysterious keyblade wielding knight. Also, there's a new secret ending that shows big spoilers for the upcoming game Birth by sleep. I won't spoil anything on that one.

Will this game ever be released outside of japan? Will it ever be in English? Will Square Enix finally realize that they'll only loose not releasing it? Probably not, but we can always hope for the best. I strongly recommend you to import this, though. It's absolutely worth it!
