Storyline

After being rejected by girl after girl after girl, Dobie, who wants to be in a committed relationship, believes the only way to do so is to get married. The only prospect is Zelda, who he asks to marry him immediately. One would have thought that Zelda would want to get married to Dobie under any circumstance. One would have thought that Mr. and Mrs. Gillis would not provide consent for Dobie to get married at his tender age. And one would have thought that Mr. and Mrs. Gilroy also would not provide consent for Zelda to get married at her tender age, especially to a boy like Dobie who has no financial prospects. Each of the groups and individuals uses a little reverse psychology to get what he/she truly wants with regard to this manner, that reverse psychology which may backfire on everyone.
