But with the last installment due out next summer, he will have to find a new image if he wants to continue his career. He's already made some steps, joining the cast of the horror film Woman in Black and discussing a role in the remake of the classic war film All Quiet On The Western Front, but now he may go in a whole new direction: comedy. Says the actor, 21, of his demanding schedule: “Working is how I will best get through a very weird time. Daniel Radcliffe is growing up fast. Not content with being one of the most recognisable faces on the planet, the young Brit seems dead set on taking the movie world by storm, with the latest news being that he is to star in the adaptation of Susan Hill's horror The Woman In Black.

He already has two films in the pipeline, one being a remake of the 1930's war film All Quiet On The Western Front and the other a biopic of Dan Eldon in The Journey Is The Destination, and now he's signed up to James Watkins' new film that has been written by Kick-Ass scribe Jane Goldman (Mrs. Jonathan Ross). Daniel Radcliffe has signed up to star in a movie adaptation of The Woman In Black, it was announced today.

The Harry Potter star will play young lawyer Arthur Kipps - who is sent to work in a remote house haunted by the ghost of a scorned woman - in Hammer Films and Alliance Films' adaptation of Susan Hill's best-selling novel.

This will be Daniel's first movie role after shooting the final Harry Potter film earlier this year.

James Watkins will direct the film from a screenplay by Jane Goldman - writer of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class - and production is due to begin in the autumn.

Daniel said: "I am incredibly excited to be part of The Woman In Black. Jane Goldman's script is beautifully written - both tender and terrifying in equal measure.

London, June 24 – English actor Daniel Radcliffe has landed the lead role in the remake of the 1930 war movie ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’.

The shooting of the movie is expected to begin in 2012.
