Sex & Nudity

  • Teen characters kiss each other in some scenes. PG
  • There are several dance performances that involve scanty and/or mildly risqué clothing, including hotpants or underwear visible on female dancers, bra tops, etc. Nothing worse than most music videos these days, though. PG
  • An older boy intends to take advantage of another teen, but she resists and leaves. PG
  • One teen seductively urges her boyfriend to spend time with her at home while her parents are away. PG

Violence & Gore

  • There are a few confrontations between characters (especially between parents and children) but nothing escalates to a physically violent level. G
  • A boy who did not get a recommendation from a teacher considers committing suicide by jumping in front of a subway train, and almost jumps before someone screams his name and two girls pull him to safety. He is then seen crying on one of the girls' shoulder on the floor as others watch. PG/PG13

Profanity

  • Shit, bullshit, asshole, faggot, nigga, ho, goddamn, cock, and bitch are all used sparingly. PG13

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is a scene where Joy Moy gets drunk for a video for Neil. The film is later showed in her acting class and she says she needed "life experience". PG/PG13
  • In the trailer scene with Jenny, the older boy appears to have two beer bottles in his hands and he proceeds to drink out of one of them. PG/PG13

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many fights between characters break out, but it is not physical, only verbal arguments. there are a few intense scenes in this movie, but nothing frightening.
  • Kevin (Paul McGill) thinks of suicide by train after being refused a letter of recommendation by Mrs. Kraft. (Though Jenny and JoyMoy were nearby and saved him before he did anything.) Can be extremely upsetting and may re-arise memories for anyone that has seen someone kill themselves by train.
  • Jenny being taken advantage of by an actor in his trailer.
