Reese Witherspoon Wants 'Legally Blonde 3' to Happen Soon

26 October 2015 12:04 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Who would you vote for? Hillary Rodham Clinton? Or Elle Woods? While it's still up for debate about how likely it is we'll see Clinton in the White House, Wood might be taking the presidential oath sooner than later, if Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon has her way about it. Appearing on a recent episode of Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe, the actress said she wants to do Legally Blonde 3. And she doesn't think there is a better time than right now.

So, will Elle Woods make a run for the White House? With the ever-growing need for more women in politics, Reese Witherspoon feels this would be the perfect way to bring back her iconic character. The last time we saw Elle Woods was in the 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, & Blonde. And the franchise did offer up one more sequel in 2009 with Legally Blondes, which didn't involve Reese Witherspoon. »

Reese Witherspoon: The World is ‘Ready’ for ‘Legally Blonde 3’

Ready to bend and snap once again? Reese Witherspoon may be.

In an appearance on “Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe,” Witherspoon said she’d like to see the indomitable Elle Woods take on the Oval Office.

“I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately,” she said, responding to a fan question.

“A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it,” Witherspoon went on. “I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office.”

The actress acknowledged that her opinion alone wouldn’t be enough to greenlight another sequel, adding, “Call MGM!,” the studio behind the movies. »

Home Alone... 5? The Jerk Too? 8 unbelievable straight-to-tv sequels

19 September 2015 1:30 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

There's straight-to-video shame, then there's straight to TV shame. The following small screen follow-ups, then, are the most shameful of the lot.

Please note, however: all of the following first aired on the small screen. They may have ended up on DVD later, but they're telly specials through and through...

1. Home Alone 5: The Holiday Heist (2012)

Original film: Home Alone (1990)

Returning cast members: None

Stars: Christian Martyn, Jodelle Ferland, Malcolm McDowell

You'll remember the first two, and might have a dim recollection of the third - new kid, new goons - and the fourth will, hopefully, mean nothing to you (old kid, new actor playing kid, old goons, new actors playing goons, shot in South Africa).

The fifth, however, is the biggest stinker of the lot, a schmaltzy Christmas edition with a new kid, new family and new goons. Also, Malcolm McDowell - of Clockwork Orange fame - is in it, »

21 shocking straight-to-video sequels: How many have you seen?

14 August 2015 5:00 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

What's the only thing worse than a sequel? The only prospect worse than paying £10 at your local cinema to have your favourite movie ruined, forever. The answer has three words. Straight-to-video.

In the '90s, home release sequels became fairly common. You'd greet them with surprise at your local Blockbusters and then want to pull your eyeballs out when you took them home and watched them. They're probably called straight-to-dvd or straight-to-Blu-ray now, but they still exist.

With the announcement that Dolph Lundgren will be starring in Kindergarten Cop 2 (because of course), here are 21 absolute stinking sequels - the vast majority of which weren't even considered good enough for the cinema. How many of them have you watched?

1. American Pie Presents: Band Camp

2. American Pie Presents: Beta House

Maybe it's the Eugene Levy factor - just why did he keep starring in all the sequels?! - but we have weird »
