Old Man (does) Time
10 September 2010 | by (New York City) – See all my reviews

What a great subject for a documentary! This man's life, particularly from age 87 on, was fascinating. The settings and the talking heads -- all except for him, as he rarely provided an interesting quote -- were highly entertaining.

Rountree's reasons for turning to crime remained somewhat obscure but it really didn't matter.

I liked this movie even though I still don't know what happened to the guy. The version of the film I taped on IFC cut off abruptly after the old man's third robbery arrest.

The use of cartoons added another layer of genuine interest here, sometimes to comedic effect.

The interview with Juanita was jarringly raw and sad.

What a great story, brilliantly told.
