Storyline

Henry destroys all ties with authority and the past. After many failed attempts to have his marriage to Katherine annulled by the Catholic Church, Henry's patience finally wears out and he marries Anne in secret, appoints his Lutheran chaplain Thomas Cranmer the head of the Church of England, and strips Katherine of her title and status of Queen. The king and new queen are disappointed that their first child is a girl, whom they christen Elizabeth. Written by Nicolettea

Did You Know?

Goofs

Scene involving a sniper using a spring-loaded flintlock rifle, which wasn't available until the mid 17th century in England (over a hundred years from the point in the scene). The whole concept of sniping requires a reasonably accurate shot, which the muskets of the 16th century were not (i.e. needed the firer to prime the pan and light it, making fine aim an impossibility). Quotes

Anne Boleyn: I'm so sorry.
King Henry VIII: You and I are both young and by god's grace, boys will follow.
[Anne nods in agreement]
