Storyline

Dexter continues to brood over the realization that even his father couldn't accept the code of ethics he had developed and seriously considers putting it all to an end. Doakes manages to escape from his cell but the people he ends up with are no improvement on Dexter. In an attempt to get the upper hand on Dexter, Lila accuses Angel Batista of rape and he is relieved of his duties. Debra does a little digging and learns that Lila is in the US illegally. With little progress in the Butcher case, the FBI assigns a Deputy Director to take over the case thereby pushing Agent Lundy off to the side. Written by garykmcd

Dexter tells Rita that he has the "pink slip" on the mini-van. In Florida, the title is simply called a "clear title." The term "pink slip" meaning "clear title" is used only in California (presumably where the writers live). See more »

Arriving in the Destination
22 August 2010 | by (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) – See all my reviews

Dexter lives a dilemma with Doakes imprisoned in the cabin, and is considering the possibility of turning himself in. Meanwhile Lila frames Angel and accuses him of rape to force Dexter to stay with her. Debra asks Lundy to investigate Lila and they discover that Lila is an illegal immigrant. The FBI Deputy Director Max Adams assumes the manhunt of Doakes and finds a lead that he may be in Everglades. Lila steals the GPS from Dexter's minivan and arrives in the cabin where Doakes is captive.

"Left Turn Ahead" is the penultimate episode of this Second Season and Dexter will be in a serious situation since Lila has found Doakes and now he might have to get rid of them two to keep his secret. My vote is eight.
