Here's When We'll See Fast And Furious 9 And 10

3 February 2016 7:26 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

The movie franchise business has become so big that studios no longer simply look forward to the next film in the series. Disney now has multi-year plans in place for both the Marvel and Star Wars universes, and Warner Bros. is now doing the same thing with their DC comics properties. All of these series have multiple films planned into 2019 or 2020. Now another long running franchise is looking even further down the road, as we now have release dates for Fast and Furious numbers 9 and 10. Franchise star Vin Diesel made the announcement via his Instagram page that, in addition to the already announced Furious 8, currently set for release on April 14, 2017, we will see the ninth installment April 19, 2019, and the tenth will follow on April 2, 2021. The announcement of the release dates is apparently part of a major marketing plan that Universal will likely be running from now until the tenth film »

Universal Locks Down 2019 And 2021 Release Dates For Fast & Furious 9 And 10

3 February 2016 6:21 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

After two decades, 10 films and countless physics-defying stunts, Universal looks set to close the book on its petrolhead saga – for now, at least – after nailing down release dates for both Fast & Furious 9 and Fast & Furious 10, which are now set to open on April 19, 2019 and April 2, 2021, respectively. They’ll follow hot on the heels of F. Gary Gray’s Fast 8, itself due to speed into theaters on April 14, 2017.

Official confirmation on the release dates comes by way of Vin Diesel’s Instagram account, who posted the still image below, one which would appeared to signal that an end is indeed in sight for Dominic Toretto and his ragtag crew of street racers.

2 February 2016 11:57 PM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Fast and Furious 9 and 10 release dates revealed: Star and producer Vin Diesel takes to social media with the news.

We’ve known for quite some time that the ‘Fast and Furious‘ movies were going to stretch to ten films. That fact was obvious as Furious 7 returned over $1.5 billion in box-office receipts in 2015, instantly green-lighting an eighth film which will shoot this summer. Well, it seems that Vin Diesel has now provided us with Fast and Furious 9 and 10 release dates. Unsurprisingly, they will be in 2019, and 2021. The eighth will hit next April (2017).

Here’s Diesel’s Instagram post with the Fast and Furious 9 and 10 release dates (though this is still to be confirmed by Universal).

Dwayne Johnson In Rampage Adaptation; Will Shoot This Summer

Dwayne Johnson in Rampage: Summer shoot planned as The Rock reveals his 2016 schedule.

We all knew that Hollywood had cast Dwayne Johnson in Rampage, the video game adaption from director Brad Peyton and writer Carlton Cuse, the collaborators that brought us one of 2015’s biggest hits San Andreas. What we didn’t know is that the film will shoot this summer!

Johnson provided us with an update via Instagram earlier today. Here’s what he had to say:

Cool news we just hired Carlton Cuse & Ryan Condal (creators of Colony) to write our big screen adaptation of Rampage for New Line. Carlton also wrote San Andreas for us, so he excels at writing big scale with family and heart as the anchor. We have a shot to raise the bar and make something cool with this one as the basic storyline is three mutated gigantic monsters (Silverback, Alligator and »

‘Star Wars,’ ‘Revenant’ Rain on ‘Mad Max’ Parade at Visual Effects Society Awards

2 February 2016 11:02 PM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

If indeed “Mad Max: Fury Road” is set to win the visual effects Oscar later this month, as many pundits believe, it hit a bit of a speed bump along the way tonight as films like “The Revenant” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” out-shined George Miller’s high octane actioner.

Star Wars” picked up four awards, while “The Revenant” claimed three. “Mad Max: Fury Road” did manage to beat “The Force Awakens” for honors in effects simulations, for its “toxic storm” sequence.

In feature animation, the Ves zigged where most of the industry zagged, awarding three trophies to Pixar’s tepidly received “The Good Dinosaur” and only one to the company’s Oscar favorite, “Inside Out.” And like Lucy yanking the football away from Charlie Brown, the Ves dangled six noms in front of Fox/Blue Sky’s “The Peanuts Movie” but gave it no trophies.

Toni Collette Joins XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage

29 January 2016 12:03 PM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Who knew we'd be getting so much Xander Cage so fast? After the disappointment that was XXX: State Of The Union back in 2005, the franchise went back into hiding for a good decade or so. When actor Vin Diesel returned to the Fast And Furious franchise, there were endless rumbles that he would eventually make his way back to the other action flick he was best known for.

After announcing the film back in January of 2014, news on the picture went radio silent, and now it seems like we get extra tidbits and casting news every other week. In the latest in the string of casting news, THR is reporting that Toni Collette has joined this growing cast, and that she will be playing a "bureaucrat in the intelligence service."

Collette may not be the most recognizable of actresses, but she definitely has had her fair share of roles. She »

Go All The Way (to the Top) with Tom Hiddleston in Graphic 'High Rise' Poster

Read More: Toronto Review: Ben Wheatley's 'High Rise' Stars Tom Hiddleston in a Demented Class War The inventive international marketing campaign for Ben Wheatley's genre thriller "High Rise" continues today with the release of a subversively graphic new poster. In what looks to be somewhat of a riff on text and iconography of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, the poster gets a disturbing punch to the gut as the reflection of a man jumping out of a high-rise window can be seen reflecting off the roof of a car.  Wheatley's latest is based on J.G. Ballard’s 1975 sci-fi novel of the same name. Set in a luxurious apartment that houses anything you could think of (think of it like a building version of the train in "Snowpiercer"), the movie deals with the class warfare that breaks out after a series of power outages. Tom Hiddleston leads the ensemble cast, »

Iceland Set To Host Explosive Action Sequence For F. Gary Gray’s Fast 8

27 January 2016 6:26 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Go big or go home – that’s essentially the attitude fuelling Universal’s box office-shaking Fast and Furious juggernaut seven films in, which continues to echo Mission: Impossible in its ability to one-up what has come before. Throughout its journey to Hollywood’s exclusive billion dollar cub, we’ve seen death-defying jumps through Dubai skyscrapers and even an impossibly long runway that put Dom and the crew through their paces – and then some.

Picking up the mantle going into next year’s Fast 8 is Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray. April 2017 may seem like an awful long way away, but already we’re beginning to learn fleeting details regarding the director’s roadmap for the petrolhead sequel, which has placed the proverbial crosshairs on New York as its primary setting. But according to reports, Gray may be taking production to a much more remote setting before the sequel »
