I remember seeing this on its one and only broadcast and thinking it was the most depressing "comedy", if not the most depressing 1/2 hour of television, I'd ever seen. There was nothing fun about this at all. I most of all remember the young new teacher "Jonathan" (who in trying to win over his students insisted they call him by his first name) appearing with black eye in his last interview, having been beaten by a student. I also remember Richard McKenzie's math teacher, whose solution to his students' problems was "fail 'em all!". Maybe this could've worked as an hour-long drama, as it had no resemblance to a comedy at all, but I don't think anything so downbeat could've lasted long in any form.
