Own the rights?
Since "Cabin Fever" (2002) was rated "R", this family friendly version was produced for the film's DVD release. Apparently, it was decided that a brief opening scene featuring Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, and James DeBello cuddling in the back seat of a truck was scene most worth seeing by the entire family. Certainly, it is one of the sweetest moments in the film, and highlights the latent homosexuality in the character played by Mr. DeBello, who sheepishly rests his head on handsome Rider Strong's shoulder, while wearing a hat that seems to be asking, "f u?" Handsome Mr. Strong appears undecided. Note that in the non-family version, DeBello is the only one without a sex partner; and, instead of shacking up, he immediately decides to hunt squirrels, because he perceives they are gay. Probably, this indicates he is "in the closet."
