"Varg Veum - Falne engler" (2008) or "Fallen Angels" is a solid series entry, the fourth that was released. This will make the sixth one that I've watched. They're all good mystery and detective stories in the neo-noir vein. IMDb voters generally place them in the 6 - 7 range, and I agree. These are well-done movies affording some novelty, some insights, some depth and some suspense. They develop good atmosphere of Norway.
This particular story is quite dark in content and has some twists as well as mystery. Hamre and Veum mostly work together on this one, their usual friction being toned down. Most of the Norwegian critics thought it the best in the series at that point in time when it came out.
The first series entries so far are as follows: (1) Bitre blomster (Bitter Flowers); (2) Tornerose (Sleeping Beauty); (3) Din til døden (Yours Until Death); (4) Falne engler (Fallen Angels); (5) Kvinnen i kjøleskapet (The Woman In The Fridge); (6) Begravde hunder (Buried Dogs).
I could list the second series entries but the unforgiving IMDb spell checker considers the foreign names as errors and won't permit too many such "mistakes" in one document.
