A scene where a man is lit on fire and later shot. We are shown his burnt body and face, and his eyes when his sunglasses are removed. The gore is detailed and realistic. He is then shot, as a mercy killing. The opening scene of the film is a flashback to this, although not nearly as gory or violent.

Discussions of violent encounters occur, as well, throughout.

Overall, a violent film, though violence is not pervasive nor particularly intense or graphic, save for the scenes depicting the victims of the bashing or burning.

Pervasive use of the f-word, and other expletives. Mild expletives are also used frequently. Two n-words are also used in reference to an Ethiopian. Several other racial terms are used, though not necessarily derogatory in and of themselves, are used in a spiteful and disrespectful manner. Sexual expletives are also frequent. Mature content matter and dialogue is frequent, as well.

Overall, not a film for those under 17...it is rated R for a reason. Thought not overly violent, the sum of all the parts makes this film not suitable for children, even with supervision.
