Nope. The rumor of Jason Bateman playing the role of Zack was first mentioned on NewsAskew.com, and later submitted unto IMDB. Kevin Smith, on his MySpace blog, confirmed that not only was he not playing the role, but wasn't even considered, which makes sense, because Zack was always written with Seth Rogen in mind to play the role. However, Smith has stated he is a fan of Bateman's work, and would love to work with Bateman sometime in his career.
No. This is the second Kevin Smith film that does not feature Jay and Silent Bob, the first being Jersey Girl. Smith has said he is taking a break from the View Askewniverse, but may return to it someday.
There are two songs during the Zack and Miri sex scene. The first is called "My Assistant Will Take Notes" by Forbidden Ensemble, this plays in the background as their scene begins. The second song is called "Hold Me Up" by Live and it plays as Zack and Miri fall onto the pile of coffee beans and have sex. The rest of the songs with their corresponding scenes can be found here.
