One of the best television pilots ever produced
10 November 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Its very rare that a television pilot hits to dead-on that, when you look back on it, it doesn't feel like the lead-in to a show. "Sally", the first episode of Flight of the Conchords, is such a pilot.

The show deftly intermingles the deadpan humor of Jemaine Clement and Bret MacKenzie into a perfect situation. Jemaine has fallen for Bret's beautiful ex-girlfriend, but soon realizes she has nowhere near as much interest in him as he does in her. The results are hilarious, brilliant, and surprisingly emotional.

The episode also features three original FotC songs, whereas most episodes following the pilot only feature one or two.

Check out the wonderful opener to this amazing show and you'll see why HBO took a chance on this unbelievable New Zealand folk duo. Flight of the Conchords rocks!!!
