First, in the City, Curious George accompanies the Man with the Yellow Hat, who anxiously paces the sidewalk, waiting for the cleaner's shoppe to open, for his laundered jacket and Yellow Hat, because he must look perfect for the opening of the new Plantariam Dome.
But, along the way back to the apartment a truck driver splashes mud from a puddle, a boy on a scooter trips them, a painter drops a bucket from a ladder, and a leaf blower threatens Curious George and the Man protecting his Yellow Hat from any damage.
Now, once they arrive safely, the Man places his Yellow Hat upon the rack, and asks two things of Curious George before leaving: not to touch the Man's Yellow Hat, and to take a bath, as photographers are attending the new Plantariam Dome's opening.
Well, Curious George decides to postpone bathing, to play with Compass the Doorman's Almost-Homing Pigeon, who lands upon the balcony railing. But when Curious George slides open the French doors, a gush of wind displaces the Yellow Hat, carrying it into the Park.
So, Curious George rushes through the lobby, passing the Doorman and Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund, before entering the park, climbing a tree, retrieving the Yellow Hat, carrying it back into Building 7, passing the Doorman and Hundley, with Gnocchi, Chef Pisghetti's pet Cat, following Curious George into the elevator. So Hundley follows Gnocchi and Curious George into the elevator and apartment.
But Curious George discovers a twig embedded into the Yellow Hat and prepares to remove it, but a thread emerges, which Curious George decides to trim with jelly-stained scissors, which leave a stain, which Curious George decides to remove with a scouring brush, which creates a hole within the Yellow Hat.
So, how will Curious George, Gnocchi and Hundley be able to mend the Yellow Hat, while tearing apart the apartment in search of yellow towels, construction paper, socks, pinions and everything yellow to restore "The Clean, Perfect Yellow Hat?"

Next, in the Country, Mr. and Mrs. Renkins offer Curious George some freshly-baked homemade bread and a jar of home-grown honey for helping them to tend to beekeeping responsibilities at the hives beside their barn.
But a bee follows Curious George into the woods on his way to sample the honey sandwich, which he looks forward to enjoying, and so he sets aside his honey sandwich, to chase the bee into flower, and to try to figure out why the flower moves without any wind. And when he returns, a bear has taken the sandwich and the honey jar, and the bee stings his finger.
Now, Curious George has never seen a bear roaming the Country, but he cannot convince anyone that he has seen a real live bear because the Man with the Yellow Hat says that nobody has seen a bear in these parts in more than twenty years, Bill the Country Neighbor says that nobody has seen a bear in more than thirty years, and the Animal Control Man says that nobody has seen a bear in this neck of the woods for more than forty years.
Well, Bill soon discovers a hive suspended from a branch in the tree in his yard over bunny hutch, and he doesn't want the bees to hurt his bunnies, so Bill and Curious George try to figure a way to remove the hive before the Man with the Yellow Hat takes Curious George back to Renkins' farm, where Mr. and Mrs. Renkins offer Curious George and the Man with the Yellow hat beekeepers' outfits in order to protect themselves from bees.
So, Mr. and Mrs. Renkins and the Man with the Yellow Hat explain to Curious George that bees are attracted to flowers and blossoms, drink their nectar, and transfer pollen into their food supply and turn it into honey, usually creating much more honey than they need, and so there is extra for everyone else. Mrs. Renkins then offers Curious George another jar of honey, as the Man with the Yellow Hat stays to help the Renkins with their beekeeping.
Well, on the way back to the Country house, Curious George sees a bear cub and tries to tell Bill, who wears a Scuba outfit to protect himself when he tries again to remove the hive from the branch of the tree overlooking Bill's Bunny hutch, in order to protect Ma Rabbit and Bill's Bunnies: Fuzzy, Whitey, Brownie, Spotty, Black Ears, Cotton Tail, and Herbert Nenninger.
But when the bees begin to swarm, Curious George runs inside Bill's house with Ma Rabbit and Bill's Bunnies: Fuzzy, Whitey, Brownie, Spotty, Black Ears, Cotton Tail, and Herbert Nenninger. Mr. and Mrs. Renkins and the Man with the Yellow Hat then show up in beekeeping gear, when someone calls the female Bee Remover, who says that she cannot remove the hive from the tree unless someone trims its branches. So, someone calls the male Tree Trimmer, who says that he cannot remove the branches until someone removes the bee hive, and an argument starts between the female Bee Remover and the male Tree Trimmer until Curious George suggests using the bear.
