Did You Know?

This episode was pushed back because of the Virginia Tech shooting. There was a scene where Stan and Klaus were in VTech attire and were rooting for the Hokies. This was later changed to Georgetown to avoid stirring up any unintentional bad feelings. See more »

Klaus: There's an old German saying: "don't blame the fish." There are other sayings, but they, um, mostly involve genocide.

The One With The Fake Vacation Then The Real Vacation...
20 July 2014 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

Newspaper Headline: Al Gore honors Carlos Mencia for recycling jokes. This is one of my all time favorite American Dad episodes. Actually, it's in the top five, at least. In this episode, Francine discovers that all the family vacations she has been on with Stan, Steve, Hayley, Roger and Klaus, have all been fake. Stan implanted the vacation memories into their heads, using CIA technology, so he can have some downtime alone. Francine is furious and demands a proper vacation. So they do. They go on a cruise where things go wrong. Obviously, they had to go wrong, otherwise it would be a boring episode. Meanwhile, Roger makes a huge effort to be able to cry on cue. I love this episode. It's so funny. Overall, I give this episode a definite 10 out of 10.
