Storyline

A revolutionary procedure performed in the jungles of Guatemala gives rise to an unspeakable horror when one doctor discovers how to implement mind control. By injecting a deadly cocktail straight into the brains of the world's unwanted, a new slave race is created - available for sweat shops, sex farms and private mercenary armies. One huge corporation is slowly building an army of pseudo-zombies who are ripe for export. But one escapes, he wakes with no knowledge of who he is or how he got there - all he knows is that his life is in danger. And he holds the secret that could bring the entire deadly army down... Quotes

The Doktor: Don't worry, you'll be okay. We've got corporate backing now. We've got labs and tests and machines that go ding. Admittedly some of our techniques are... Old school. Sure, we'd like a machine that does it. Ka-chung. Ka-chung. Splitting heads. Production line style. Like the ford motor car. After the procedure you might experience some memory loss. Headaches. Homicidal tendencies. That's all normal.

Obviously low budget. Undeniably B-grade. Unconventionally weird.

NAILED is a strange movie to watch but if you're a fan of odd, underground, low budget film-making it's worth a look. According to the trivia section NAILED's production budget was $1000. If that's the case many of the films shortcomings can be forgiven.

The plot seems both simple and convoluted at the same time. How the characters are connected isn't very clear, though it wraps itself up tidily in the end with a convenient Mexican stand-off that seems to take up a good chunk of NAILED's running time.

There's barely any dialog, save one or two long rants by 'The Doktor' during some sort of brain removal / zombification process and a long, poignant one shot monologue by 'The Daughter' that while well performed seems more at home in a more conventional film.

The performances are uneven: good, bad and ugly - but this somehow just adds to the entertainment - and the bizarre character surprises, for instance what the malfunctioning hit-man 'The Suit' does in his spare time, the sexual revelation of two macho characters or a drug binge by 'The Doktor' and a prostitute are all funny scenes.

There's blood and gore - CG and practical - sometimes well executed, sometimes laughably bad but enough characters get whacked to keep NAILED entertaining, if you're into that sort of thing.
