"Free your mind and your ass will follow". George Clinton
9 May 2008 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

Being a fan of Letts work (Punk: Attitude/ The Punk Rock Movie) I was thrilled to go to his evening at the GLOBE, where he screened two of his films, read from his autobiography, answered a bunch of questions and did a DJ set. "George Clinton: Tales of Dr Funkenstein" was a hilariously entertaining film on one of the Godfathers of funk (along side James Brown and Sly Stone) whose continuing 50 year career has defined the funk genre. He is the mastermind behind "Parliament" and "Funkadelic" collectively known as "P-Funk" and has had a stem of solo albums. Interviewees include fellow P-Funk members, Andre 3000, Macy Gray and heaps more. I highly recommend you watch it if it screens in your town or beg, borrow or buy a copy when it becomes available.
