Saoirse Ronan performed many of her own stunts.
Such was the physicality of Saoirse Ronan's role, her combat tactics called for 4-hour days of intense training under Dan Inosanto (a Bruce Lee protégé) over a two month period at his L.A. gym.
Joe Wright bleached Saoirse Ronan's eyebrows to try and mimic the physicality similar to a white wolf.
The script was listed on both the 2006 and 2009 Black List, an annual list of the best unproduced screenplays of the year.
A former CIA agent was brought in to consult the character of Cate Blanchett.
Erik's arrival in Germany and fight in a passage underground below the ZOB bus station was done in a long take. It took less than ten attempts to get it right.
The large oval shaped tunnel through which Hanna escapes (with large vertical louvers) is a wind tunnel for testing full sized aircraft. It's actually only 40-50 feet long, if that.
According to Joe Wright, Saoirse Ronan specifically requested that the studio bring him on-board to direct the film.
When Hanna cleans out the reindeer, the carcass was real but the entrails were fake.
The song that Isaacs (Tom Hollander) whistles is "The Devil Is in the Details" by The Chemical Brothers.
There is a nod to graffiti artist Banksy when Erik exits the ZOB bus station in Germany, the words 'One Nation Under CCTV' are sprayed prominently on the wall.
One of the two .22 target pistols in the movie is a Russian Margolin Olympic target pistol. The same type of pistol used as Princess Leia's laser pistol in the Star Wars movies. The other pistol is a Luger .22, elements of which are found in Jan Erso's A-180 pistol.
Danny Boyle was developing Hanna with screenwriter Seth Lochhead in early 2009, but eventually left the project.
The song being played as the performers in the Safari Club rehearse, and while Isaacs and Marissa Wiegler talk, is "The Devil Is in the Details" by The Chemical Brothers. Isaacs actually references the song title during the dialogue.
Alfonso Cuarón was rumored to be circling the project just weeks before Joe Wright signed on to direct.
When Hanna learns about DNA on the computer in Berlin the montage of images includes: a small detail of the Hell panel of Hieronymus Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights" (c 1490-1510); the Vacanti 'earmouse' (1997); and 1884 zoopraxographic frames of a running man by Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904), one of the earliest pioneers of cinema.
Seth Lochhead wrote the original story and script on spec in 2006. He returned for production work in 2010.
When Eric Bana's character is walking in a tunnel or subway in Germany there's a graffiti sign "ARHS SUPER 3" painted on the wall. That's the name of a Greek soccer team.

Ronan escapes from an underground base. Similar to her other movie City of Ember (2008) where she lives in an underground world. She also stars in Lost River (2014) about a city under a lake.

Spoilers

The trivia item below may give away important plot points.

The first line and the final line of the movie are the same, spoken by Hanna, each time after she fires an arrow into her target's torso: "I just missed your heart" followed by Hanna aiming and firing a pistol at the camera (her target's point of view), then transitioning to the "Hanna" title screen.
