Jack Reid: [on the phone] Tell the Mayor, I'm insulted. I would never jeopardize the journalistic integrity of this newspaper for some rent-a-mayor's political agenda.
Jack Reid: [to his son] So Britt, here we are again. Sent home after another schoolyard fight. I know you miss your mother. So do I. But I have to take care of 750 employees, and you have to take care of yourself. Still that seems to be asking too much.

Entertaining Flick...
1 June 2011 | by See all my reviews

'The Green Hornet', Directed by the legendary Michel Gondry, is meant for those who enjoy Cinema, for it's escapism & it's imagination. This Superhero Action-Comedy is NOT meant for the pseudo critics, who only watch films to learn something!

Based on the character of the same name that had originated in a 1930s radio program and has appeared in movie serials, a television series, comic books and other media, 'The Green Hornet', the motion picture, is about 2 underdogs, who decide to clean, the unclean streets of L.A.

Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg's Adapted Screenplay is fun and packs in some really entertaining moments. I really loved the love/hate relationship between Seth Rogen & Jay Chou. Sure, the writing loses pace in the second hour and drags itself a bit, but the climax is nicely shot.

Michel Gondry, the legend, directs this Heroic tale, perfectly. Cinematography by John Schwartzman, is good. Editing is neat. Stunts are super. Music by James Newton Howard, is well-pitched.

Performance-Wise: Seth Rogen & Jay Chou share a striking chemistry from start to end. Rogen gets it right, yet again, while Chou is energetic and lively. Cameron Diaz has been wasted. David Harbour is okay. Christoph Waltz is Fantastic, as expected. James Franco & Tom Wilkinson appear in cameos.

On the whole, Grab a Popcorn and get Ready to be Entertained!
