Fat Pets
6 April 2007 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

There have been many good documentaries about unusual animals in the world, and this is the obvious example of where it can be a bad thing, the house pet with unfortunate circumstances. Apparently half of the UK's pet cats and dogs are fat, and they are getting bigger. This documentary explored the lives of three owners with big pets and their lifestyles. There was the married couple with the big black cat that sometimes has to be cleaned for poo by the owners, the woman with the over-sized Rottweiler that gets serious concern to the owner from a woman washing him, and the woman with the cute small dog that eats birthday cake (after a death sentence was put on him by a doctor). The obvious problem with these three pets is that the owners are loving them to death, so no wonder they are so fat. Harry Hill picked on this programme briefly on TV Burp. Worth watching!
