Officially "Stone Age Apocalypse" is about the eruption of the Toba super-volcano 75,000 years ago which killed most of the million or so humans who were alive at that time. This ancient catastrophe supposedly killed so large a percentage of the human population that it broke the species up into a number of small, genetically-isolated groups that became the basis of the human genotypes we're familiar with today. It's actually an interesting subject but not apparently to the makers of SAA except as a platform for an endless ream of Out-of-Africa propaganda. SAA spends more than ten of it's forty-seven minutes belaboring this point.
But SAA isn't just about beating us over the head with OOA propaganda. There's also socialist propaganda too... surprise, surprise. At 30.50, we have a well-edjumacated fellow named Stanley Ambrose telling us that the Toba eruption changed humans by "forcing people to become cooperators", so apparently we also became good little socialists! Isn't that nice? It's almost as if a colossal, extinction-level, catastrophic event was A Good Thing! Of course, a slickly-produced piece of scientmagistic propaganda like this couldn't possibly be putting out a message that anti-human, could it? After all, our Wise and Caring Lords and Masters want nothing but the best for us! But getting back to SAA, there's almost ten minutes of yada-yada about obsidian tools intended to back up Ambrose's hypothesis. None of it is the least bit convincing to anybody who can think for themselves. Worse, none of this has anything to do with the eruption of Toba. Just by coincidence (Not!) the location where these pieces of obsidian crap were found is in East Africa so the whole giant diversion is yet another restatement of the earlier OOA polemic. That makes at least twenty minutes wasted on multicultural brainwashing...
