The episode with the appearance of author Hans Christian Andersen
24 September 2009 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This was beautiful and funny. Sebastian and his crab scouts were very, very funny, meanwhile Ariel is intrigued by a metal fish not realising that it is the author Hans Christian Andersen inside, and later she has to save his life. The animation is colourful and vibrant, exactly how I like animation in a TV show. The music is lovely, as is Jodi Benson as Ariel. Hans Christian Andersen was portrayed very well, and Mark Hamill voiced him perfectly. His sketch of Ariel at the end of the episode was absolutely beautiful. Another great character is Archimedes, a mer man who knows a lot about the human world and is treated like an outcast. King Triton is given more to do here, and that was great, as I like him, he kind of reminds me of my grandfather. All in all, beautiful. 9/10 Bethany Cox
