Shows how a small white lie can lead to disastrous consequences
TheLittleSongbird8 November 2009
The Little Mermaid TV series is one of my childhood favourites. Of course it isn't as good as the film, which is a timeless animated classic. The episode King Crab is a good one. It doesn't belong up there with my my top 10 favourite Little Mermaid episodes, but I like it very much. It does teach a very good lesson, that a small white lie can lead to disastrous consequences. The animation is very good and colourful, and the music is great as always. Emperor Shaaga is a good villain, though I will say that my favourite Little Mermaid villain other than Ursula is the Evil Manta. The voice acting is very good, I love Jodi Benson as Ariel, and I like it that Ariel is more sympathetic and caring than she is in the film. Kenneth Mars is great as King Triton, and Sebastian is hilarious, so were his parents. Overall, a good episode, but it is not as good as Wish Upon a Starfish, The Evil Manta or Whale Of a Tale, all three of which are in the top 10 of my favourite episodes. 9/10 Bethany Cox
