Watch Robert Rodriguez's Action Short Film - Two Scoops

18 June 2013 6:00 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Here's a fun action-packed short film from Robert Rodriguez called Two Scoops. It stars twin actresses Electra Avellan and Elise Avellan, who have appeared in the previous Rodriguez films Machete and Grindhouse. They play "ice cream scoopers by day," and "danger seekers by night."

One of the awesome things about this project is that when it was announced, Rodriguez invited fans to shoot footage of themselves for the opportunity to collaborate with Rodriguez on finishing the film. The movie has now been completed, and you can watch it below.

Two Scoops' is a cinematic adventure, created by Robert Rodriguez with the help of his fans. In the film, you will find a scene featuring 'the agent,' a secret weapon, and the monster. Watch: Robert Rodriguez's Fan-Completed Action Short 'Two Scoops'

18 June 2013 1:50 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Back in March, director Robert Rodriguez announced a cool short film project called Two Scoops starring Electra Avellan and Elise Avellan, the sultry twin actresses from Machete and Grindhouse, as "ice cream scoopers by day, danger seekers by night." What made this project truly cool was Rodriguez asked fans to shoot footage of themselves with a chance to collaborate with Rodriguez and finish the film. At the time, there was plenty in the teaser for the film that needed to be finished, including the creation of the monster. Now the film is finished, and you can see what Rodriguez and his fans came up with below. Watch! Here's Robert Rodriguez's complete short film Two Scoops from Blackberry (via The Playlist): Two Scoops is a short cinematic adventure, created by Robert Rodriguez with the help of his fans. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For pushed back to August 2014

18 June 2013 9:22 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Some bad news for anyone looking forward to the long-awaited Sin City sequel... with just under four months to go until its scheduled release date of October 4th, The Weinstein Company has decided to push back the Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller-helmed comic book adaptation a little over ten months, with Sin City: A Dame to Kill For now set to hit cinemas on August 22nd 2014.

The follow-up to Rodriguez and Miller's cult 2005 hit, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is one of two Rodriguez-directed sequels in production (the other being Machete Kills, which arrives in September). The script has been written by Rodriguez, Miller and Oscar-winner William Monahan (The Departed) and the film is set to feature an all-star cast, with returning Sin City stars Bruce Willis (A Good Day to Die Hard), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Jessica Alba (Machete), Rosario Dawson (Trance), Jaime King (My Bloody Valentine »

Star-Studded Project Gets Delayed

18 June 2013 6:33 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Fans of stylized Frank Miller films will be disappointed to know that another of the author's anticipated sequels, "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," has now been pushed back, this time to Aug. 22, 2014. The "Sin City" follow-up was previously slated for release this October.

The move comes just one month after "300: Rise of an Empire," also based on Miller's work, was postponed from this August until March 7, 2014.

Dimension Films gave no reason for the "Sin City" delay. The Robert Rodriguez-directed sequel had been gestating for quite some time before finally beginning production in October 2012. "A Dame to Kill For" will be largely based on Miller's second entry in the comic-book series but will incorporate new plotlines written for the movie.

The sequel finds Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and others joining Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Jaime King, »

'Sin City' sequel release delayed by 10 months to August 2014

17 June 2013 11:46 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

In sad, stressful news for fans of Robert Rodriguez and "Sin City," the long-awaited sequel to the violent, artistic film has been pushed by 10 months. "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" will be released on Aug. 22, 2014 from its original scheduling of October this year.

Because of the change in schedule, director Rodriguez will have only one film, "Machete Kills," released in 2013. The old release schedule had placed "Machete" and "Sin City" almost back-to-back in theaters.

Set to be released by the Weinstein Company, the sequel features the character of Dwight (played by Clive Owen in the first film and by Josh Brolin in the upcoming film), a physically altered man who is "hunted down by the only woman he ever loved ... and then watches his life go straight to hell." That woman is Ava Lord (Eva Green), quite possibly the "Dame" of the movie title.

It's been 8 years since the original "Sin City" movie, »

With filming of Blanc/Biehn Productions' remake of Hidden in the Woods set to begin July 1st in and around Houston, Texas, all the major players are lining up, and handling effects will be Vincent Guastini's V.G.P. Effects & Design Studio.

Hidden in the Woods star Michael Biehn met Guastini when they briefly worked together on Sushi Girl (in which Hitw co-star Andy Mackenzie also appeared), and Biehn was so impressed with V.G.P.'s work, the producers asked Guastini to come on board and supervise with Evelyn Belmar and Vanessa Cartier. Some of Guastini's previous credits include Silent Night, ColdWater, The Devil's Carnival, Under the Bed, and Hansel & Gretel Get Baked, just to name a few.

Watch Alexis Bledel Give a Wet Willy in Her New Movie Violet & Daisy

7 June 2013 2:30 PM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

In 2010, Geoffrey Fletcher won an Oscar for scripting Precious, which made us squirm by showing us abuse and incest. His follow-up, Violet & Daisy (in theaters today), which he wrote and directed, is almost as provocative. The bloody dark comedy stars former Gilmore Girl turned Man Men temptress Alexis Bledel as the alpha half of a teen-assassin duo; the other half is played by The Lovely Bones's Saoirse Ronan. The girls are enlisted by their boss (Machete's Danny Trejo, as seen in the clip below) to murder an intriguing man (James Gandolfini). Now watch Bledel give Trejo a wet willy."Geoffrey doesn't hold back," Bledel told Vulture. "I'm not shocked easily. I had many conversations with him about my sense of responsibility playing a character like this. This is a person who's been through many traumatic, and perhaps violent, experiences." In Violet's mind, for example, it makes perfect sense »

Don Johnson Will Offer Fatherly Advice To Cameron Diaz In The Other Woman

6 June 2013 11:11 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Director Nick Cassavetes is building quite the squad for his upcoming revenge comedy The Other Woman. Though some additions like Nicki Minaj and Kate Upton seem to be strange forms of stunt casting, I.m sure Cassavetes can get a couple of winning performances out of them, even if straight comedy features aren.t exactly in the guy.s wheelhouse. Now in steps Don Johnson, who has become a dependable co-star to have in the last few years, with memorable roles on HBO.s Eastbound & Down and in Robert Rodriguez.s Machete a few years ago, not to mention his hilarious turn as Big Daddy in Quentin Tarantino.s Django Unchained. He.s come quite a long ways since the days of Miami Vice. And Nash Bridges for that matter. Though it isn.t clear how Johnson will directly tie into the plot of The Other Woman, he.ll play »

Comcast’s Latino Network Taps Rodriguez And Orci For Latin Bond

6 June 2013 10:13 AM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

You know what culture isn’t associated with spies, mostly because the Cold War didn’t touch them as heavily as say, Nazi communications into Mexico brought them into WWII? That’s right, the Hipanic/Latin/Mexican culture. Outside of the El Mariachi trilogy (and upcoming 2nd Machete movie) produced and directed by Robert Rodriguez, most of the spy games have been Spanish-Language films made F.U.B.U. (For Us By Us – Fyi). I’m not saying it’s a bad idea to have spies from all cultures, I’m saying I see where the impetus to want one comes from.

Comcast is launching a new network called El Rey and during upfronts, where television networks announce their upcoming programming in an attempt to get big advertising money, El Rey announced a ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ TV series and another series from Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci’s K/O Paper Products company. »

Robert Rodriguez Sets Up From Dusk Till Dawn and a Latino James Bond TV Series

6 June 2013 9:20 AM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Former guerrilla filmmaker wunderkind and Austinite Robert Rodriguez is getting into the TV business. The writer/director/producer/caterer of the “El Mariachi”, “Spy Kids”, and “Machete” franchises is setting up a new TV network with Comcast called the El Rey Network, and he’s already slotted two new shows for the fledgling enterprise. Up first will be a TV series based on Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s “From Dusk Till Dawn” series. The original movie centered on two criminal brothers who go on the lam in Texas, only to end up in a bar full of vampires. The film starred Tarantino and George Clooney, and spawned a couple of low-budget direct-to-dvd sequels. No word on what the TV series will follow, but it should stick pretty closely to the first movie, I would assume. The sequels were, well, they were direct-to-dvd, so that should say something. Rodriguez will also be producing, »

Machete Kills Poster Trades Sofia Vergara's Lethal Bra For Whips

5 June 2013 8:19 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Based on the number of times Robert Rodriguez has used Sofia Vergara and her explosive breasts as a marketing tool for his upcoming sequel, Machete Kills, I.m half expecting the Entire movie to be about her character, Madame Desdemona. I mean, she.s destined to at least get her own spinoff movie after the new Machete movie, right? She has been everywhere, firing bullets out of that massive bra. Today, we get a new variation of Desdamona taking aim at . something. It has been shared with us via ComingSoon. From the look at the above image, Desdamona doesn.t only rely on underwear guns. She brandishes whips like weapons, meaning Machete (Danny Trejo) might be in trouble . if he can take his eyes off of the beauties Rodriguez is packing into his sequel. Earlier, we had a one-sheet of Michelle Rodriguez.s character, She. And the cast also includes »
