Storyline

Justin is practicing the duplication spell with rabbits, and Jerry congratulates him for doing it correctly. Jerry then explains how concentration is a key to having the spell correct. Unfortunately, Justin was thinking about Dogs when he did the spell, thus having the rabbits that he duplicated barking. Later, Alex is reading a magazine and remembers that her favorite store is having a crazy ten minute sale. Alex wants to go because her enemy since kindergarten, Gigi, is going to go to the sale to buy cool clothes. However, Jerry will not let Alex go because she needs to go to wizard training. At school, Alex tells Harper that she can not go to the sale. When Gigi over hears their conversation, she tries to embarrass Alex, and rub it in her face that she can not go to the sale. Gigi then purposely spills water on Alex. Alex is so mad, that she tries to find a way to go to the sale. At the pizza shop, Theresa and Jerry discuss whether or not to let Alex go to the sale. They decide not... Written by wizardboy

Goofs

When we first get introduced to Gigi and her back round girls, they walk down the school stairs. As a joke in the back round you see a boy that is operating the fan. However, if the girls are walking away from the fan, then their hair should be flying forwards, not backwards and fancy like in a shampoo commercial. See more »

Quotes

Harper: [runs to Alex] Are you as excited about the crazy ten minute sale as I am?
[screams]
Alex Russo: [pretends to scream along] I can't go.
Harper: But I drew up a game plan so that we could get into the store before Gigi.
Alex Russo: I thought that we agreed we hate Gigi so much we'd never say her name.
Harper: But, you just said Gigi.
Alex Russo: Okay, from now on, we'll say her name backwards.
Harper: But, Gigi backwards is still Gigi.
Alex Russo: That's right. We'll say Gigi, but only we'll know it's backwards. It'll be hilarious.
Harper: I like it!

"CRAZY" way to start the show but what the hey? It's great!

Alex wants to blow off her wizard lessons to compete in the "Crazy 10 Minute Sale" all to find a cute jacket against her rival Gigi.

Well this was the 1st episode of WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE and yeah I guess this was a crazy way to start the show but who cares? This is such a great show and its supposed to be crazy. Also I think this was a brilliant introduction to the show. The concept of this episode was a bit stupid (just girls going to a sale and fighting over a jacket) but overall it is still cool. Alex (Selena Gomez) was very funny in this episode and we still haven't seen the best off her yet. Gigi appears to be just a popular girl at school who hates Alex (with 2 weird assistants who have funny noses) Max (Jake T Austin) was good as well. Very funny (especially in the wand part).

To sum it up a fantastic introduction to the show. Even though the concept is crazy its still a great episode.
