Storyline

1st Street is a curious neighborhood untouched by the aids of modern living like proper plumbing and Internet. Pilje cruises into 1st Street with the intention to drive out its inhabitants and make way for a huge redevelopment project. As soon as he gets there, his plans start to unravel. He meets Myeongnan, a female boxer with the dream of becoming an East Asian boxing champion, and a host of colorful characters who turn his life upside down. Myeongnan works hard to attain her dream, training constantly and doing most of her talking with her fists. Myeongnan and Pilje clash, and he often finds himself on the receiving end of her ferocious punches. Instead of shunning the outsider, Myeongnan and the rest of the villagers warm to him. He is even thought of as Superman by the children of 1st Street after he enables the village's water supply and performs roof repairs. Pilje is drawn to these colorful misfits and begins to rethink his plans to destroy the zany town that they love. Written by CJ Entertainment

movie close to reality but with a lousy ending....
30 October 2008 | by (India) – See all my reviews

I would give 10 out of 10 for the first 3/4th of the movie as the director Je-gyun Yun appeared to be so much inspired, but he seemed to have rushed in the climax as if to finish the movie on time... Chang Jung Lim & Ji-won Ha were excellent in there respective characters and especially ha Ji-won appeared to have worked out too much for the movie...She is usually worn out in most of the scenes...

All the kids were awesome in performance.korean movies gave a fresh breath into the pathetic souls of the audience exhausted by the routine and meaningless Hollywood flicks

For what ever it is the movie is totally worth watching..if you haven't watched it yet then grab your DVD right now...
