Ghost Hunters-Eastern State Penitentiary
Scarecrow-8811 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Superb setting for this episode of Ghost Hunters, Eastern State Penitentiary, has Team TAPS investigating a closed prison. This one is special because it features the bizarre recording of what appears to be someone in a cape, legs manifesting and vanishing. No matter what they do to possibly recreate it or to debunk it, this recording, even cleaned, continues to marvel Jason and Grant who cannot explain it. They actually agree to spend two extra nights there just to see if they can catch it again, or anything else for that matter. This is where TAPS begin using the thermal device to detect possible heated figures. This episode is the one notorious for Harnois' running from a supposed shadow, earning disappointment from Jason and Grant who consider his actions rather childish and improper for an investigator. It also has Grant and Jason in a heated debate over Brian Bell who leaves the monitors to go flirt with girls across the street from the penitentiary! This episode features Sheri, later a potential love interest for Steve, their involvement focused on in regards to how detrimental it would be to their status with TAPS. All the members of Team TAPS have unease with the place, in particular Cell Block 12, seeing shadows move throughout. It was finally nice to actually see Grant and Jason investigating for a change.

Warning: Spoilers
This is was one of the very first episodes of Ghost Hunters that I watched as a kid. I really liked learning the history about the jail that was mentioned very briefly and that Al Capone, one of the most notorious mobsters stayed there. My favorite scene from this episode is when Brian H was with the cameraman and he ran out of the prison and yelled "DUDE RUN!" The one thing I didn't like about this episode is that it felt more like a reality show then an actual investigation. But I was very happy to see Jason and Grant finally investigate and use the thermal. I remember watching a YouTube video with the supposed entity that was captured as a kid and everyone who I watched it with freaked out. Overall, this episode is a good classic Ghost Hunters episode so I would watch it, time and time again!
