‘Glee Project’ Director On ‘Break It Down’ Movie (Exclusive)

Musicvideo helmer Erik White will direct dark comedy “Break It Down” for StarStream Entertainment, with music produced by Gregg Alexander.

White, whose credits include multiple episodes of “The Glee Project” and seven Chris Brown videos, will direct from a script by Ted Beck. White made his feature film helming debut on “Lottery Ticket.”

“Break It Down” is produced by StarStream Entertainment’s Liz Destro and Jordan Kessler, who produced Toronto Film Festival closing-night film “Life of Crime,” starring Jennifer Aniston, Tim Robbins and John Hawkes. They also exec produced “Lee Daniels’ ‘The Butler.’”

“Break It Down” follows a washed-up ’90s R&B star who must come to terms with his selfish and destructive behavior in order to get his band back together and court the woman of his dreams.

Alexander recently collaborated with director John Carney for “Can a Song Save Your Life.”

AnnaSophia Robb and Jake T. Austin Earn Animation Stripes

AnnaSophia Robb (Race to Witch Mountain, "The Carrie Diaries") and Jake T. Austin (Hotel for Dogs, "Wizards of Waverly Place") will voice characters in Khumba, an animated movie about a zebra who only has half his stripes (Austin) and becomes a scapegoat for the drought his herd is experiencing. He teams up with a narcissistic ostrich and an overprotective wildebeast and defeat a leopard dictator and his herd. Steve Buscemi (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) and Anika Noni Rose (Tiana from The Princess and the Frog)  just joined the cast which includes Liam Neeson (Wrath of the Titans), Laurence Fishburne (Man of Steel) and Loretta Devine (Lottery Ticket, "Doc McStuffins"). South Africa's Triggerfish Animated Studios is behind the film.
