Routine Look into a Vintage Cold War Series
14 October 2011 | by (Claremont,USA) – See all my reviews

Somehow confidential information from double agent Philbrick's locale is finding its way into the hands of overseas communists. The FBI assigns Philbrick to find out how.

Many standard features of the series turn up here— Philbrick's voice-over thoughts, robotic communists, military-like cell meetings, and LA area locations. The clandestine meeting between Dressler and Philbrick generates interest as each manuevers to elude possible tails. There's some resemblance to the Body Snatchers movie allegory as Herb finds out two sweet old neighborhood ladies are actually communist conspirators. All in all, however, it's a routine look into this vintage Cold War series.

(In passing— note the disclaimer that "any similarity to persons living or dead is strictly coincidental". Such a disavowal seems odd for a series supposedly based on fact.)
