Storyline

Ted is getting ready to move into Robin's apartment. Marshall and Lily don't look at it like they're losing a roommate, but gaining their "we can do whatever we want" freedom. But as they spend more time alone without Ted, they come to realize what Ted actually brought into their household. Barney on the other hand is trying to prevent Ted from doing what he considers the worst mistake in his life by moving in with Robin. As such, Barney hijacks Ted's moving van with all of Ted's possessions inside. Barney is holding Ted's possession hostage unless Ted does whatever he tells him to do on what was supposed to be Ted and Robin's first night as roommates together. As Ted and Robin are not together for the evening, they both have time to think about what moving in together really means. Written by Huggo

Goofs

We see ted teaching barney how to drive a car. Even if barney says he won't drive anymore, we can see in lots of episodes barney driving cars. For example in 4th season barney gets stopped by a police-girl or in 8th season he drives until Atlantic city. See more »

Quotes

Barney Stinson: OK! Let's go one more.
Ted Mosby: I don't know.
Barney Stinson: You know you want to.
Ted Mosby: Alright, let's do it. I just gotta call Robin real quick.
Barney Stinson: Arrrghh, so that's what it's gonna be like from now on. No ok, ok, you call your old lady and ask permission to have fun. Me, I will be at the snack shack eating our victory onion rings, Han style.
[Ted gives a confused look]
Barney Stinson: Solo.

A Return To Form
4 December 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

A Return to form for "HOW I Met Your Mother" after some OK episodes. And it is no surprise Barney Stinson and Neil Patrick Harris are at the front and centre of the good time.

Plot In A Paragraph: Ted is all packed and ready to move in with Robin. This disgusts Barney so he steals the removal van with all his possessions in it, saying he will only give him his belongings back if he suits up, and joins him on a night out. Meanwhile Marshall and Lily, who at first, love living alone, and celebrate the fact by lounging around naked. Soon realising they are missing Ted.

It's no surprise Neil Patrick Harris played a prominent role here, because I always enjoy episodes where he is prominent more.
